Between - rooms, by Celso Rayol and Fernando Costa- CASACOR Rio 2022 (André Nazareth)
The theme of CASACOR 2022 , " Infinito Particular ", leaves room for different interpretations. For Cité Arquitetura , it is about seeing the home as a collection of memories and a safe haven for residents. From this interpretation, the project " Entre-salas " was born, which welcomes visitors as the starting point for the exhibition's journey in Rio de Janeiro.
It is difficult to define which environment the project can be categorized as, since its layout makes it multipurpose . Sometimes it acts as a balcony, sometimes as an atrium, sometimes as a living room. Its solutions are multiple and can be applied in different environments of a house. The integration between the internal and external environments is one of the greatest assets of the project, which makes a transition from the past to the future, from emptiness to fullness, with the aim of impacting, surprising and welcoming visitors. In two environments (37 m² and 22.64 m² each), the project values memories , combining an affective nostalgic atmosphere with timeless tones and current trends – such as curved shapes that warm and embrace.
The originality with a historical charge appears in specific and unique pieces, such as rugs inspired by works by artists from the centennial Art Week of 1922 , and in the rare antiquarian book published in 1922, which tells the colonial history of Brazil, and spans one hundred years until it became part of the Cité project. The furniture includes, among other design pieces, the Gestos, Ar and Corpo tables, the result of a collaboration between CitébyDesign , LZ Studios and Sigmastones . Their names derive from a poem by the modern Brazilian poet Manuel Bandeira, a literary symbol resulting from the movement that began during Art Week.
Nature manifests itself through the mirrored architecture of the porticos . By reflecting the rich Atlantic Forest garden that surrounds the mansion, they inspire calm and well-being – so desired today. The environment was designed to be as ventilated as possible , maintaining this relationship with the outside. The practice is also sustainable, as it does not require air conditioning to make the environment thermally comfortable.
