The interpretation of time lived with its
contemporary dilemmas influences the lifestyles and flows of the dwelling. The space not only responds to the functional needs of those who inhabit it, but also
reveals the subjectivity of its resident . Based on this exercise of self-knowledge and identity, the Santa Catarina office led by architect
Tufi Mousse – with a branch also in São Paulo – presents the relationship established between the body and the dwelling in
Casa Morena , a space at
CASACOR São Paulo 2023 .
"Casa Morena personifies this relationship created in
space as a reflection of authenticity . We are rare beings with individuality and similarities.
The home does not exist if we do not inhabit it and for that we have to wrap our body in this garment that we call home. This is how we define “
Body and Home ”,
CASACOR 's theme, in this project. The home as a reflection of our body with needs and responsibilities", explains the architect.
The 152
m2 space receives a good deal of natural light during the day due to its position on the São Paulo exhibition route, hosted for the second consecutive year at Conjunto Nacional. The office
makes good use of the sun's rays , which highlight the careful selection of textured materials, emphasizing the
rounded shapes of the chosen furniture in contrast with the elegant brownish tone in the background, which is reminiscent of skin tone.
"The organic environment surrounds visitors and offers a
layout to be discovered instinctively . Full of textures applied to the surfaces and furniture, the home
wraps and dresses our bodies with lightness, sensitizing us to the delicacy of life," adds Tufi.
Through the subtlety of the materials used, the office creates the identity of the simulacrum and
instigates the body's senses to a more heightened perception . The combination weaves together sensations awakened by the presence of
original and industrial elements , such as the cold coating applied to the walls in harmony with the clarity of the natural wood on the floor. The frame houses the
furniture with a Brazilian modernist style and the office's creations in red earth tones. The office chose as highlights the renowned pieces by designers
Sergio Rodrigues and
Ricardo Fasanello , as well as the launches of the coffee tables, round dining tables and chairs from the
Alfi line designed by the architect.
"The special treatment developed for the lighting project brings the
effect of natural light to the environment . Light and materials are inseparably connected. The effect occurs through the
effective perception of light in the materials, highlighting the characteristics of each texture . Wood, ceramic, stone and natural linings are present to represent the textures of the skin of Casa Morena", he adds.
The layout is visually integrated , but with spaces clearly demarcated by function. The circulation proposes flows that do not hinder the use of each element, without losing the general view of the environment or causing confusion. The office's years of experience in developing interior design projects guided the configuration of Casa Morena in a very intuitive way,
breaking rules and proposing other routine routes . The works of art provided by the
Simões de Assis gallery deepen the subjective nature of the project, based on choices that make sense to those who truly live in the home.
