"Casa Japandi" is an environment inspired by
Giuliano Marchiorato 's recent immersion in Japan. The architect is a lover of minimalism and the language used in some projects in the land of the rising sun. This ends up being reflected in his own work, which incorporates some Japonist concepts.

A trend that is here to stay,
Japandi is a style that fuses Japanese and Scandinavian influences based on the concepts of
Wabi-Sabi and Hygge . The first is an aesthetic approach that values nature and its uniqueness. The second, "hygge", is a Danish and Norwegian word that translates the comfort that people find in architectural spaces, through natural textures in minimalist spaces.

In addition to these concepts, Marchiorato explores his architectural language of straight lines, attention to the smallest details, few materials and less visual pollution in the living and dining areas. It is a mix between
minimalism and
Scandinavian style , represented by organic shapes and few details. The project encompasses both styles explored through the
colors, materials and naturalness of the project, resulting in a fresh, serene and welcoming environment.

As a way of expressing a unique style, the architect brings a careful eye to the
designs and
artworks used in his project, always meticulously curating all the objects. Pieces with harmonious designs that highlight the
local, natural and contemporary aesthetics are always chosen.

Whenever he begins developing an interior design project, Marchiorato chooses to choose the main elements of the project before inserting them into the space plans. This case was no different: for the floor plan, the architect chose
taquari wood with a matte finish, warming the base of the space, referring to the premises of the Japandi style and highlighting the naturalist concept. On the walls, he designed a
base of wooden panels to the millimeter, dressing the space like a tailored suit.
Still on the walls, a large fireplace was designed especially for the space. The architect, who also designs the furniture, made a point of thinking of a
large focal element for the project. The fireplace in
brushed white Paraná marble , extracted from a location near the city of Curitiba, brings together the natural and rustic nature of the element, translated into a piece of furniture that has the power to heat. A unique element, since no two natural elements are the same.

The dining area is distinguished by a
table with a lower height than the standard , allowing the option of armchairs instead of chairs. The choice adds comfort and highlights the architect's concern in providing
welcoming places for people to gather .

Dsgn Selo 's contemporary pendants are pieces of art positioned above the dining table and next to the lounge chair. The works show their versatility in the movement of the pieces, allowing for different lights that create scenes that bring light and shadow as participating elements of the project.
