A large balcony facing the sunset over Pampulha Lagoon. A project inspired by Niemeyer's curves and the history of the region. The
Otacílio Bar Gastrô at
CASA COR Minas 2015 is the space of Luciana Savassi and Marcos de Paula.
Inspired by the region's candidacy as a World Heritage Site, the architects built an elegant, charming space that is perfect for admiring the beauty of the lake's shoreline. The name itself is a reference to the history of Pampulha: Otacílio Negrão Lima was responsible for creating and damming the lake.
In addition to the name, the space carries Pampulha in its straight and geometric lines, inspired by modernism, and in the curves of the roof, inspired by Niemeyer. But the concept goes even further, combining the modern with the artisanal in details such as the crocheted benches on the balcony.
Even the bar's menu celebrates the region. The menu includes the Trio Burle Marx, a couvert with salmon in pesto, asparagus paste, tuna and olive oil, Pampulha Salad, with American lettuce, chicken and Caesar dressing, and Arroz Niemeyer, made with chicken and traditional Portuguese sausage. It's mouthwatering.
