Comfort and well-being in contact with nature: this is the proposal of Refúgio do Lago , an 80 m² space designed by the architect Leila Dionizios for CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2023 .
“With all the adversities we have faced in recent years, there has been a redirection of focus towards the interior of our homes, prioritizing these characteristics”, explains Leila.

The architect prioritized the use of light tones and natural materials , such as linen in the curtains and bed linen, in addition to the strong presence of wood in the coverings and furniture. One of the walls was even covered with sustainable wood “tiles”.

With landscaping by Ana Veras , the lake surrounds the bungalow, creating a relaxing atmosphere alongside the garden. “We opted for a lake with a more natural appearance, highlighting the exuberance of aquatic plants, such as water lilies and Pontederias, which bloom all year round,” says the landscaper.

The bungalow suite also features a selection of Brazilian design furniture , designed by names such as Jean Gillon (with the Jangada armchair and stool, highlighted in the room), Jorge Zalszupin, Jader Almeida, among others.

Finally, the bathroom occupies a small outdoor area, incorporating elements that already exist on site as part of the project, such as the stone wall and the trees there. To complete the look, the architect used a bathtub designed by her office, entirely carved in Corian , a countertop in raw stone and the Ajajá stool, kindly provided by designer Hugo França for the space.
