Surprise yourself: check out the first details of CASACOR SP 2016

This year , CASA COR São Paulo is here to surprise you! The 2016 edition is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the show and is very special. It will once again take place at the Jockey Club of São Paulo, but this year in a special area: the old outpatient building, where the first CASA COR event was held at the Jockey Club 10 years ago. "This building hosted the first CASA COR at the Jockey Club, in the 20th anniversary edition in 2006, and now to celebrate its 30th anniversary, the exhibition has returned to this project, the outpatient clinic, designed by Elisário Bahiana between 1935 and 1941. This building dates back to a time when the first lines of rationalism were arriving in São Paulo and we can see this in the rather austere building. Later, the building underwent an intervention by the French architect Henri Pierre Sajous. He was the one who made the adaptations to the original design. And it is this building that we are going to restore, with full support from the historical preservation agencies of São Paulo, CONPRESP, and the necessary authorizations. We will carry out the restoration and leave the city a gift to be used in 2017", reveals Lívia Pedreira, president of CASA COR.

With the premise of having less and providing more quality, CASA COR will have 69 spaces. Today (01/21), some architects and designers visited the show to tell the event organizers which spaces they would like to design. Other professionals, who are part of the show's history, visited the works throughout the week and have also pointed out their desired spaces, but the choice works like a puzzle game. "CASA COR is a stage for professionals to show what they are imagining. And today they already visualize what they want. They come and choose. We make an agreement, look at the master plan , and everything works like a chess game in which we try to fit the pieces together. Roberto Migotto and João Armentano are celebrating 30 years of career together with the show's celebration and they have already confirmed their presence at the event. Leo Shehtman has also come to look at the spaces. These professionals are part of CASA COR's history and that is why they will be present at it", explains Cristina Ferraz, the show's relationship director. After the professionals' visit, the committee, composed of Lívia Pedreira, Cristina Ferraz, Roberto Dimbério and Pedro Ariel, is responsible for choosing them: those who fit the concept of the show, the new architects and designers who innovate and give a new look to the event, and those from other states who add cultural value and mix the spaces. "From now on, we will take the architects and place them in the spaces. Those selected will receive the spaces and seek out sponsors and partners. There is always a 30% change at the beginning, but we have a waiting list for those who decide not to design anymore. It's like an entrance exam for adults. We will have professionals from other states as well. So we analyze the language and see what fits best. Renewal is essential. We make room for new professionals who bring a new look," explains Pedro Ariel, content director of the show. What people can expect from the show this year is a cozy, homey atmosphere. "There are a lot of people who did CASA COR 10 years ago and are coming back for this edition. I believe that the show will showcase our current, streamlined, revamped lifestyle. These great professionals will show a more possible way of living," shares Roberto Dimbério. According to Cristina Ferraz, as of February 2nd, there will be an almost complete list of participating professionals. In the meantime, we can wait and see.
