Last Saturday, October 13, colors and solidarity – exuded through pixel art – were used to raise awareness about hunger in Africa, in Piazza Duomo, Italy. Around 10,000 empty plates showed that to this day, 840 million people do not have the right to decent food on the continent.

Visitors who visited the site were able to donate 5 euros to help women in Mozambique produce tubers, vegetables and milk, enabling a diet with more protein for children. Donors tied red heart-shaped balloons to the plates.
