What ancestors do we want to be? What legacy will we leave for future generations and for the planet? It is with this reflection and provocation that the theme of
CASACOR 2024 takes shape, the most complete exhibition of architecture, art, interior design and landscaping in the Americas. The theme – which will permeate all national and international editions of
CASACOR next year,
the first dates of which have already been announced – seeks to understand how the world lives in the present and sees the future.
For the professionals who will be part of the cast, the challenge is great. In the Manifesto, which gives rise to the
campaign 's theme, CASACOR's curators invite professionals
to use their creativity to respond to the complexity of these times. "It is also an opportunity for us to reflect on the
impact of each action or choice in projects , especially when we talk about housing," says Livia Pedreira, curator of the exhibition. According to Rodrigo Peirão, Creative Director of the campaign for Agência Sharp, “De presente, o agora” transcends precisely this division between the abstract and the concrete, manifesting itself as a
creative concept that permeates the experience of space and being . “This invitation to reflection is intrinsic and profound, where the 'now' is not just a chronological instant, but a full and attentive state of experience”, he reiterates.
Its visual components are fundamental to the translation of the practice. According to Peirão, in addition to the soft color palette and graphic elements carefully selected to induce a state of calm and reflection, “
the iconography adopted is directly related to the theme , recognizing the beauty of everyday transformations, the cycles of nature and the influence of Artificial Intelligence in the present day”. We live in an era of constant change, where the present is often overshadowed by the speed of everyday life. Thus, CASACOR’s motto invites us to slow down. “In the context of CASACOR, this is reflected in an approach that transcends the temporary and celebrates the perennial, encouraging a
deeper appreciation of everyday experiences and the beauty that can be found in the simplicity and authenticity of the present,” concludes Peirão.

Whether they are among the trees, on the asphalt of the cities or in research centers. From this confluence of knowledge, emerges the inevitable awareness that our footprints will leave traces on Earth. This realization redoubles everyone's responsibility for the choices of the present. We will always be someone's ancestors. What kind of ancestor do we want to be? Certainly, solar beings.
