CASACOR RJ enters the 30s in an event that recalls music and architecture

In the years when radio was the most popular means of communication in the country, Praça Mauá was one of the hottest spots in Rio de Janeiro. The reason for this goes back to Rádio Nacional, the largest radio station at the time, which was located in the region. inside the A Noite building. Orlando Silva, Vicente Celestino, Pixinguinha, Carmen Miranda and Dorival Caymmi gave their voices and moved the region, where the CASACOR Rio de Janeiro pre-premiere charity event will be held in 2019, in the old Touring Club do Brasil building.

Around 30 professionals, including musicians, singers and dancers, will present a bit of the region's history at the event. “It's a way of also talking about Rio and our entire cultural base,” says Misailidis. The buildings, in addition to being neighbors, were designed in the 1920s in the art deco style by architect Joseph Gire – responsible for other notable projects in the city's architecture, such as the Copacabana Palace and the Hotel Glória. The party has already become a tradition at CASACOR Rio: it takes place every year on the eve of the opening to the public. In 29 years, many institutions have benefited, and this time the proceeds will go to the NGO Saúde Criança Responder , which provides assistance to children and adolescents in the pediatrics and nursery departments of the Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital and the Aloysio de Castro Cardiology Institute, as well as their families. The event will take place on August 19th, from 5pm to 10pm. The exhibition will present a wide variety of living rooms, living rooms and balconies, with varied sizes and themes, as well as studios and lofts that reflect modern living.
