At the head of one of the most influential
Design Galleries in Europe, Nilufar, CEO Nina Yashar launches a catalogue with pieces by big names in Brazilian design that were present in Milan in 2016 and that continue to be extremely valued both in Europe and in Brazil. With the aim of presenting striking designs from Brazil, the CEO could not fail to present the work of
Joaquim Tenreiro , a designer who had his origins in Portugal, but who lived in Rio de Janeiro for much of his life.
- A specialist in contemporary designs and carpentry, Tenreiro created the rare
Three-Legged Chair in 1947 - a very bold and modern model for the time, but which perfectly reflects the style of its creator.
Simplicity, practicality and comfort mark the design of the Italian architect, curator and journalist naturalized in Brazil,
Achillina Bo (Lina Bo Bardi) .
Finally, the catalog featured the symbolic (and far from basic) tea trolley by
Jorge Zalszupin - a contemporary work that strays from the obvious and demonstrates the designer's creative potential. Born in Warsaw in 1922, he moved to São Paulo in 1949 to work in design, making custom furniture.
In 1959 he opened
L'Atelier , which brought together carpenters to produce furniture for homes and offices. From the 1980s onwards, Zalszupin began to invest his time in architecture and construction, creating important buildings in San Paolo, such as the
Sumitomo building (1970), the
Top Center on Avenida Paulista (1975) and the
Ibirapuera Shopping Mall (1982).
