Even with
compact spaces ,
bedrooms can be comfortable and beautiful with good
space planning and organization. But don't think that to make the most of every inch of space you need to fill the entire room with furniture. This will certainly create a heavy and unrelaxing atmosphere. So instead, why not opt for smart storage solutions, shelves and minimalist, slim-line pieces? See below how
small bedrooms can have space for everything you need.
1. Bed with drawer
(Stan Koolen/ Vtwonen / CASACOR)
An interesting solution for decorating a small bedroom is to choose
multipurpose furniture . Beds with drawers underneath are a good example. This type of furniture allows you to make the most of space that is often wasted. Use the drawers to store sheets, blankets and comforters. If your bed is a box-spring type, choose a model with a storage box.
2. Precise lighting
(Grégory Timsit / CASACOR)
In this compact bedroom designed by French designer
Marianne Evennou , the bedside
lamps were installed directly on the
wall behind the bed to free up floor space and create a more fluid décor. The light shade of blue also helped create a relaxing atmosphere in the room.
3. Minimalist closet
(Luiza Schreier / CASACOR)
Architect
Bianca da Hora designed an
open wardrobe for this compact bedroom, with hangers and shelves. At the bottom, the professional included a
floating drawer unit . The carpentry pieces provide storage space and a light and elegant look to the space, decorated in light colors.
3. Dressing table in the wardrobe
(Luiza Schreier / CASACOR)
Who said a small bedroom can't have
a dressing table ? Architect
Gabriela Ikeda innovated in this project and used one of the niches in the old wardrobe to create a space reserved for the resident's makeup and accessories. Drawers, a mirror and a beautiful straw chair make up the proposal.
5. Adjust the bed position
(Mattias Lantto/ Historiska Hem / CASACOR)
In this bedroom, architect
Manoela Fleck fitted many spaces and functions into a light and fluid decor. Under the bed, she designed an
elongated niche , where residents can store their most used shoes on a daily basis. On the side, a small table, with shelves on the upper part of the wall, make up a
home office , complemented by a pendant light that comes down from the ceiling.
7. Compact support
(André Nazareth / CASACOR)
To free up floor space and not hinder circulation in this compact bedroom, architect
Ana Neri created a
side table with a small shelf installed directly on the wall, accompanied by a lamp. The
two-tone paint , with a prominent shade of blue, made the décor even more charming.
8. Compact bedroom with desk
(divulgação/ Finn / CASACOR)
Well-planned carpentry solved the small
layout of this room and met the demands of having a space for sleeping and another for working. In an L-shape, the piece occupies one of the corners of the room with a single bed and continues as a desk near the window. Hooks help organize the space and minimalist design pieces complete the decor.
9. Upper cabinets
(Juliano Colodeti / CASACOR)
Designed by
UP3 Arquitetura , this compact bedroom gained more
storage space with built-in
cabinets on the highest part of the wall behind the bed. To create a light look, the architects chose a light shade of gray for the woodwork and created a simple design without many details.
10. Invest in shelves
(divulgação/ Melanie Jade Design / CASACOR)
The owner of this compact room has a lot of books and wanted to live with them. To do this, he opted for
shelves on the highest part of the walls around the bed to accommodate them. Note that there is a good amount of space between the bed and the bookshelf to avoid a feeling of suffocation. Another trick to keep the space organized is to use
drawers under the bed.
