This
45 m² loft , located in Copacabana (RJ), was a challenge for architect
Vivian Reimers , responsible for the
VRO Arquitetura office and part of the
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro team.
In addition to the limited space available, the client had a special request: the resident splits his time between the capital of Rio de Janeiro and Portugal and, in order for the Rio apartment to reflect his personality, the request was to create an
area that would highlight the art pieces in his collection .
“The client is passionate about art, reading and music.
Paintings, sculptures, engravings and books are items that are part of his daily life, so including these pieces in the project was a necessity,” says the architect.
Vivian's project has a
metal shelf as its guiding thread . The item, designed by the architect and made by a metalworker, serves to showcase her passion for art and also to
divide spaces, creating a living area, dining area, bar, reading corner... The architect also highlights that the art pieces also influenced the colors. “
The bar furniture was chosen to have the same shade as the lipstick and shoes of the woman in the painting ,” she explains. The painting, which is the centerpiece of the project, was created by a Bolivian artist,
Alfredo Muller .
To maintain the composition of the color palette, the walls were painted a light gray, creating a neutral base that does not take away from the protagonism of the art.
The
kitchen , measuring approximately 4 m², has fitted furniture, also designed by Vivian, creating space for all necessary items. A small cupboard was created on the balcony of the property, where all cleaning supplies (such as a broom, vacuum cleaner, etc.) are stored.
