It's no secret that sustainability is one of the pillars of Marton Estúdio: in the last two editions of CASACOR São Paulo , the CASACOR store by Armazém do Marton found smart solutions to facilitate responsible disposal. This year was no different – the project was based on the premise of optimizing the construction process while generating little waste. In this way, the components, structures and carpentry were produced within industries, and only then installed on site, in an assembly that stands out for its speed and practicality.

The reuse of materials is another front that drove the project, given the reuse of the laminated wood used in the exhibition in 2018. The same happened with the central tables, which now have a white tone instead of the black of the previous year. The light hues were not chosen at random – the tone is accompanied by a reflection on the planet’s lack of balance.

The project also looks to the future, and demonstrates concern in building the shelves in five modules, in melamine MDF, which can be changed and disassembled without compromising the possibility of reuse. The assembly was also carried out in a dry manner, without cuts or the use of raw materials that are harmful to the environment.

The store brings together all sorts of products from 140 Brazilian designers with small and medium-sized production. Another important point in the project is the ventilation planning, which does not require air conditioning due to the use of cross ventilation. The entire warehouse is also operated with solar energy.

At the end of the space, there is a surprise for visitors: the golden container tells a solar narrative, which also provokes reflection on the future of the planet. Covered in mirrored ACM, the space – which is almost like a corridor – also receives around 50 round lamps, which alternate the light and resemble a star constellation. CASACOR SERVICE SAO PAULO 2019
