A couple with three children who live outside of São Paulo wanted a
vacation rental property for stays during courses, events and studies in the capital of São Paulo. Therefore, they commissioned architect
Marina Carvalho to renovate a
110 m² apartment located in Vila Clementino, in São Paulo.
Without removing any walls, the architect made changes to the
layouts , carpentry and finishes. The mezzanine, with
a ceiling height of 5.50 m , was expanded to 110 m² and became a special space, functioning as
a home office and
guest room .
The kitchen underwent significant changes, including the creation of a
peninsula with a cooktop and dishwasher facing the living area.
Custom joinery was used throughout the home, including the dining room, living room, master bedroom and bathrooms.
The dining room was integrated into the kitchen and living room, with a wooden unit that runs throughout the space, contributing to the
feeling of spaciousness . The living room was carefully designed, with well-thought-out furniture, colors, decorative details and carpentry.
The second bedroom was designed to
accommodate guests , with a centrally located trundle bed and spacious closets for luggage. The
guest bathroom maintained the original materials provided by the builder, with the addition of a custom cabinet in blue lacquer.
In the end, the project was planned according to the
owners' needs and preferences, offering functional, versatile and comfortable spaces.
