It is in the Portuguese city of Porto that this village – half neighborhood, half resort – is hidden. With 40 accommodation units and commercial spaces divided into five buildings, the holiday neighborhood called Village by BOA was rehabilitated and redesigned by the architecture studio Pablo Pita in collaboration with Heim Balp Architekten .

The resort is supported by four basic principles: aesthetics, comfort, high-quality service and cutting-edge technology . “Aesthetics are at the heart of Village by BOA,” Pablo Rebelo and Pedro Pita , co-founders and principal architects of Pablo Pita, tell Yellowtrace. A crucial part of the project was finding the right balance of materials to create the ideal stay experience . The proposal was that comfort was not limited to aesthetics alone, but also materialized in the choice of furniture and the practicality of high-quality appliances.

To achieve this, the founders of BOA Hotels, Lior Zach and George Vinter, turned to their long-time friend and collaborator, Ingrid Aparicio of Bacana Studio to lead the interior design project. Your challenge? "Create a feeling of comfort in every corner of the house."

All furniture is inspired by Japandi , and was custom designed, produced in Portugal. The designs are simple but high quality ; and feature simple lines, soft, earthy tones and natural materials such as wood, linen and rope. Ingrid also curated works by local artists to showcase regional talent.

To distinguish the village from the rest of the city, the architects gave the facades a new coat of gray and created a unique external arrangement in partnership with landscape architect Hugo Carneiro from Mudita Studio .

Accommodation, which can be categorized as duplex, studio and apartment, ranges from 30 to 85 m2 and can have one to two bedrooms. Each house also includes a fully equipped kitchen where guests can prepare their own meals. Nothing like other accommodation options in the region, Village by BOA really is like a home away from home . Source: Yellowtrace.
