Lava and Gallery, by Manu+Ca Studio

Lavatory and Gallery - Manu+Ca Studio Manu Cardim and Catarina Gouvea. The décor is modern, but with a special look at the past. In addition to leaving the house's original architectural details, such as the hall's ceiling and the bathroom's tiles, almost untouched, the design duo also opted for reinterpretations of old pieces, playing with styles and eras. This is the case of the mashrabiya used in the lavatory, which also features rose gold metalwork from Deca (instead of the classic gold), and also in the oratory. The piece, created by architect Dado Castello Branco, is super contemporary, but it makes reference to the history of the house and its owners, who kept a rich collection of sacred pieces (especially Brazilian Baroque) there for years.
