SuperLimão designs a multicultural space located in Vila Madalena

Lote , a new multicultural space dedicated to music and graffiti in São Paulo, has the SuperLimão office leading the project. Located in Beco do Aprendiz , in Vila Madalena, and with the proposal of revitalizing the region traditionally linked to graffiti and urban culture, the Lot has among its main characteristics the coexistence with public space .

In the space of approximately 650 m² , the architectural idea was to create an urban topography that stood out in relation to the surroundings to serve as a backdrop for new graffiti , also creating a promenade with ups and downs that refer to the neighborhood's characteristic hills.

To this end, a triangular “urban mountain” made up of containers offers a route of discovery around the neighborhood: as you advance along the ramps and stairs , horizons appear that reveal the tree-lined Vila Madalena full of buildings.

In total, five containers were used, which SuperLimão considers a 3rd generation project in the use of the material. “We used the container as a brick, raw material , and not as a final form”, says Lula Gouveia , partner and architect at the firm. .

To complete the Lot, a geodesic occupies its central courtyard, as a stage for musical performances by DJs. Unable to find options on the market with good acoustic, thermal and aesthetic performance, SuperLimão developed the structure internally.

In addition to being functional, projecting the sound onto the dance floor and isolating its projection onto the street , the geodesic creates a play of unusual shapes in architecture: a triangle and a circle.
