In a year, when it turns 470, the city of São Paulo will receive a gift that will put it on the international map of examples of sustainable urbanization and active mobility: a green area of approximately 10 thousand m² in the region of Avenida Paulista, with more 400 trees planted and urban furniture designed by the award-winning Estúdio Campana , by brothers Humberto and Fernando Campana. The boulevard dedicated to coexistence, culture and social inclusion will be built on a section of the Rio Claro and Flores avenues and São Carlos do Pinhal street, and construction work will begin in the first half of 2023.

Named “ Your Street ”, the project, signed by the Levisky Arquitetos I Estratégia Urbana office and inspired by the movement that is already taking place in the world’s largest metropolises to prioritize pedestrians , is the result of a cooperation agreement between the City of São Paulo and the São Paulo Capital of Diversity Association. It has the support of Cidade Matarazzo and Brookfield Properties.

Architect and urban planner Adriana Levisky, responsible for the project, explains that the boulevard will bring art, culture and environmental education in a free and accessible way and will also serve as a resting space for those who pass through the Paulista region daily – which, according to the Association Paulista Viva, can reach more than 1 million people. The space will feature urban interventions, temporary exhibitions, areas for contemplation and rest, and will offer educational content about the environment – for example, the public will learn a little more about each species of tree planted there, as well as interesting facts about the fauna and flora. , and also about the indigenous communities of the Atlantic Forest. For Alexandre Allard, a businessman who is part of the São Paulo Capital of Diversity Association and is the founder of Cidade Matarazzo, “Sua Rua” will “bring nature back to the city, show how nature changes our lives , impacts happiness and, more than that, bring efficiency and break the stressful routine in a region as busy as Paulista”.
