In this edition, as in the previous ones,
CASACOR Minas Gerais demonstrates a constant concern with the impacts of the exhibition on the environment that surrounds it. Architects, interior designers and landscapers of the exhibition not only opted for sustainable solutions and technologies in their environments, but also
adopted sustainable measures from the conception to the execution and assembly of the project , continuing in this way until the end of the exhibition – all with the aim of reducing the generation of waste and the environmental impacts resulting from the works.

In this way, the exhibition reinforces the commitment to encourage
clean construction , ensuring the preservation of the environment and quality of life for our and future generations. "The professionals seek materials and present all their experience in their environments, offering sustainable alternatives for the advancement of society with greater comfort", explains
Eduardo Faleiro , Executive Director of CASACOR Minas. Among the measures, the following stand out:
Modular Construction System
To demonstrate a
fast and
clean construction system, the company CMC Modular, part of the Lafaete Group, the largest specialist in industrialized construction solutions in Brazil, supplied
44 standardized prefabricated modules , with dimensions similar to containers. After being transported, the structures are installed dry and quickly, generating a significantly smaller amount of debris, in addition to avoiding waste of materials. With the modules, it is possible to develop innovative projects, due to the variety of materials that can be applied. Furthermore, the modules installed at
CASACOR Minas do not need to be demolished: at the end of the exhibition, they can be transferred to other locations.
Of the 50 spaces in the show, 27 were built especially for this edition – and of this total,
10 use the modular construction system . They are:

Pivot doors
Nídia Duarte - Casa Sui. Projeto da CASACOR Minas Gerais 2022. (Estúdio NY18/CASACOR)
Nídia Duarte 's project was built from scratch and erected using a metal structure in just 20 days. Sitting lightly on the ground, with a horizontal, linear format and a very fluid
layout , the project was designed with a recessed base, in order to favor engagement with the surrounding landscaping. The
pivoting doors , designed by her, face the garden, also favoring air circulation and ventilation of the space. "In terms of aesthetics, they create an interesting movement on the façade, forming the volume, folded in twos. In addition to the opening and sealing, the hand-crafted weave of nautical ropes allows them to also function as
brise-soleils to filter natural light and provide an
ephemeral play of light and shadow ," says Nídia.
Recycled floor walkways
Kat Flores e Paisagismo - Verde pra si, ver a si. Projeto da CASACOR Minas Gerais 2022. (Henrique Queiroga/CASACOR)
A walkway built entirely with
ecological draining flooring : the
boulevard , which is approximately 200 linear meters long, was produced using
material from waste and waste iron ore , enabling the reuse of resources and promoting sustainable development. Not only is the result sustainable, the aesthetic result also pleases visitors, allowing for
perfect integration with the gardens . At the end of the exhibition, the tiles can be reused in other places.
Special coatings
Dacapo Revestimentos, a company specializing in special coatings, was present in 12 environments at CASACOR Minas, presenting
coatings manufactured from waste from the mud extracted during mining . In this way, what would otherwise be discarded is transformed and can be applied to numerous surfaces such as walls, floors, benches, countertops, facades, swimming pools, bathtubs and even shelves.

Ecogranite
(Henrique Queiroga/CASACOR)
Used in a variety of environments,
Ecogranite has a final appearance identical to granite, but has
many advantages over the original mineral : considerably lower weight and costs, malleability, versatility and sustainability. One of the main attractions is the reduced weight of the structure: compared to natural stone,
Ecogranito is 7% the weight of granite , making the work much lighter and with less waste, since the material can cover the most diverse types of surfaces. "Our product is made by mixing raw materials. We do not work with cutting rocks. In this way, we preserve the environment by reducing the impact on nature and generating sustainability", reveals Simone las Casas, marketing director and partner of the company.
At the Minas Gerais show, Ecogranito developed ECO530 – a color created especially for this edition of the show. The coating is present in several areas of the event, including:
Palafita do Curral , by
Evandro Melato and
Pabrício Amaral (Studio 126 Arquitetura);
Quarto Ninho , by
Fernanda Abras and
Luiza Janot ;
Espaço Áurea , by

Sustainable furniture
(Henrique Queiroga/CASACOR)
The use of environmentally responsible furniture is also a concern for the architects and decorators of the show. In several areas of
CASACOR Minas , pieces by Amplio Móveis stand out for their pioneering work in responsible manufacturing. The pieces produced by Amplio can be seen at
Bilheteria , by
Andrea Pinto Coelho ;
Pátio do Palácio , by
Patricia Abreu ;
The Bar , by
Lucas Lage ;
“O Chef e o Cabra” , by
Sarah James ;
Quarto Ninho , by architects
Fernanda Abras and
Luiza Janot ; and at
Refúgio do Casal , an area by
Ana Paula Paolinelli .
The company's goal is to work towards
socially fair, economically viable and environmentally friendly practices . That's why each product is unique: the welding, weaving, painting and even the final packaging are all handcrafted. Leftover materials such as aluminum and synthetic fiber are recycled, as well as leftover foam from cushions, which are transformed into pure flakes for new uses.
Smart taps and valves
Supplied by Deca,
CASACOR 's official sponsor, the exhibition features a wide range of faucet models and actuators with
sensors that control the water flow without the need for manual contact with the parts. The equipment is activated simply by bringing your hands close to them. In addition, they help to significantly reduce water consumption, enabling
savings of 35% to 80% compared to conventional valves . They can be seen in the functional spaces of the exhibition, such as the
Bathroom designed by
Cioli Stancioli and in the
Oásis Public Bathrooms , by
Projetar Engenharia e Arquitetura . The 27th CASACOR Minas continues until September 25th, at Parque do Palácio, in Belo Horizonte.
