Sururu is a mollusk widely used in Alagoas cuisine and its shells are often discarded as waste, creating an environmental and public health problem. This problem gave rise to the Sururu: Shells that Transform project, which began with the Cobogó Mundaú , a hollow element made from the sururu shell and named after the Mundaú Lagoon, in the urban area of Maceió. The shell is the main raw material of the project carried out in partnership with IABS (Brazilian Institute of Sustainability) and the A Gente Transforma Institute , led by Marcelo Rosenbaum, responsible for generating work for the local community and sustainability opportunities in the region.
The solar line is available in Concrete, Earth, Sand and Ochre options and brings back the language of brutalist architecture, inspired by Lina Bo Bardi. Sururu shells are combined with cement to produce vibrant colors and robustness, creating a sustainable coating that values the circular economy. The surfaces of the line reproduce slatted and linear effects, which gain an iridescent effect due to the shells.
