Arthur Casas and Triptyque Architecture are finalists for the iF Design Award

The iF Design Award – one of the most important design awards in the world – has selected two sustainable Brazilian buildings for the final phase

The exclusive AGE360, designed by Triptyque Architecture , and the Ícaro Jardins do Graciosa, designed by Arthur Casas , are finalists for the iF Design Award 2021 , one of the biggest design awards in the world. Among more than 10 thousand entries , from 52 different countries, Brazilians were selected to compete in the final phase of the Residential category.

Designed by Triptyque Architecture, the AGE360 tower stretches 124 meters high and is located in Curitiba. The building has 33 unique residences, as well as a suspended forest that ensures the well-being of residents.

With an exquisite design that focuses on asymmetries and surprising cutouts, the project features an interior free of structures . Thus, the internal spaces are wide, fluid and connected – and full of natural light. Each hanging garden with triple height ceiling is composed of eight different plant species , which adapt to the personality of each resident.

AGE360 was recognized by Fitwel – an international seal of health and well-being in living – as the highest-rated Brazilian residential project in the world for quality of life . The project is also the highest-rated in Latin America and is in the top 15 globally for the seal. . It has already received an honorable mention from the Architecture Master Prize and stands out for combining architecture, sustainability and wellness, all in a single project.
The main premises of the Ícaro Jardins do Graciosa Building , by Arthur Casas, were to make the most of natural light and guarantee privacy to the 21 apartments, which were divided into three buildings.

The exposed concrete of the structure seeks balance in contrast to the wood and glass of the façade – materials that highlight the concept of permeability and transparency that guided the project.

The building adopts an architecture that is fully integrated into the landscaping and rethinks traditional concepts, bringing a sense of scale that is more reminiscent of a house than an apartment – such is the privacy and spaciousness of its spaces.

The Ícaro building has also won titles such as Best of Year from the American magazine Interior Design, in the Multi-Unit Housing category; Rethinking The Future , in addition to the Gold certification from the Green Building Council (GBC) Brasil Condomínio, the main sustainability certification in the country. country, which gave the residential complex the title of “most sustainable development in Brazil”.
