A vibrant and dynamic community, but with several deficiencies. This is
Jardim Colombo , in the west zone of São Paulo, a community with around
15 thousand residents managed in a horizontal and shared model that, with the support of public and private entities, built a movement of
territorial regeneration with cultural, educational and social development,
made by and for the residents ,
Fazendinhando . Led by
Ester Carro , an architect and social urban planner who, at just 26 years old, is already changing the history of the community where she was born and lives. Now, the community is seeking financial support to go to Bogotá, Colombia, to
lead new learnings in the management model of local social projects to bring to Brazil . Alongside Ester,
Erik Luan , a Public Health student at the University of São Paulo, and
Kamilla Bianca , a videomaker and photographer, have been approved for the exchange. "One of the objectives is to expand
networking , learn about the different actions that exist within Latin America in this area and understand how transformations happen there. It will be 45 days of a lot of learning", explains Ester Carro.
The immersion will take place at the
NGO Fundación Fundación Jesús El Buen Pastor , a social organization that focuses its activities on planning, managing and executing social projects for children. Upon arriving in Bogotá, Ester, Erik and Kamilla will face the challenge of
structuring a project. for the community in which the Fundación Jesús El Buen Pastor Foundation operates .
How to help?
Lodging and one meal are included, but it is still not enough to make the trip viable. Flights and costs for other daily meals are not included. Erik Luan, Fazendinhando's Finance Director, estimates that it will be
necessary to raise 30 thousand reais for the 45 days of travel . Fundraising includes counterparts, such as lectures and knowledge meetings upon return, and the promotion of supporters on Fazendinhando's advertising channels during the days of the trip. Fazendinhando emerged at the end of 2017 with the mission of
transforming a landfill into a park , since the community does not have any common green areas, starting the construction of Parque Fazendinha. The park, still under construction, already provided a recreational area coexistence with activities for residents. With the arrival of the pandemic, works and activities had to stop and the movement began
actions to support families in vulnerable situations . It was also in the midst of the pandemic that new projects emerged, such as
Fazendeiras and
Fazendolar . The first prepares women from Jardim Colombo to work in the kitchen and construction industry; the second connects students of architecture, engineering, design and related areas with Jardim Colombo, thus integrating the formal city with the informal city.
