For two years, through the FazendoLar project, the Fazendinhando Institute has been renovating public spaces and houses in Jardim Colombo, a neighborhood located in the Paraisópolis complex, west of São Paulo. The organization has the support of CASACOR , which, among other actions, carries out donations of construction materials from past exhibitions to the community. This year, this partnership gained a new chapter: in a space entirely dedicated to the themes of sustainability and social impact, CASACOR São Paulo presents photos and videos about the history of Casa da Dani , a project in which FazendoLar completely renovated the house of a resident of the community - around 60% of the items used in the work came from donations .

CASACOR is contributing tiles, flooring, mortar, drywall, countertops, and other items. This year, it will also donate R$1 to Fazendinhando for every ticket sold to CASACOR São Paulo . The actions are part of the celebrations for its 35th anniversary. of the show. The Casa da Dani project also had the support of Coral paints - the company, which is part of the AkzoNobel group, has been promoting the Coral Mulheres na Cor program since June, which aims to train women from Jardim Colombo as professional decorative painters. The project lasts 10 weeks and provides more than 200 hours of coursework.

Dani's House

A resident of Jardim Colombo, Dani lived in an unsanitary space of 24 m² with her family. The house was full of leaks, had a broken roof, no sink in the bathroom or in the kitchen. In addition to loose coverings, worn windows and doors made it difficult to the entry of light and air. Outside, the scene was not much different: due to a very muddy ravine at the bottom of the land, on rainy days, water would accumulate due to the mud and create bad odors and mold, in addition to peeling off walls.

The first step in the renovation was to insulate the walls and waterproof them to control humidity. Any crooked surfaces were leveled. Then, a new roof was installed using eco-friendly materials that also help with thermal comfort, reducing the internal temperature on hot days. and muffled. Resistant, light-colored coatings - which give a sense of spaciousness - were used in the finishing. On the outside, the façade was covered in bamboo. The entire hydraulic and electrical structure was redone.
Before and after: old wooden frames gave way to water-resistant models.

The kitchen received new water-resistant frames that do not wear out in the rain, as well as a new cabinet with a sink and a counter. A laundry room was built and the bathroom wall was increased, isolating the room.
