Understand how sustainable buildings can help contain heat waves
The high temperatures in Brazilian states reflect the phenomenon that has been occurring in European countries between May and July this year: heat waves . According to Climatempo, a Brazilian meteorological company, temperatures in the 40ºC range can last for almost five days in a row. Global overheating is a global concern – and to contain the problem, several measures need to be taken, combining public authorities and service sectors. But how can the construction industry contribute to alleviating this problem?

Sustainable constructions , on the other hand, are created with the purpose of minimizing such impacts and reducing waste during construction . In addition, there is also a great deal of care in investing in natural materials to create a more sustainable scenario throughout the process, including during the use of the property.

Sustainable materials and coatings such as bamboo, plastic wood, Styrofoam, clay and more contribute to a more promising scenario, as they can be reused and do not harm nature, since their extraction is not harmful and the construction process is practically waste-free.
