CASACOR São Paulo received the Zero Waste Certificate for the third consecutive year, with an impressive 99.7% landfill diversion rate and an A grade for good practices . In compliance with the methodology established by the Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA) through the Instituto Lixo Zero Brasil, the audit aimed to assess the application of the Zero Waste hierarchy, based on both the documents submitted and the on-site visit.
The concern with reducing waste was a constant in the organization of the event. In this edition, the use of plastic sheets on the subfloor was encouraged to reduce the adhesion of the mortar, allowing the
floors to be removed without breaking during disassembly. This way, they can be
reused in other projects or donated .
The same goes for furniture, doors, mirrors, glass and others, avoiding disposal .
The waste generated in the 2022 edition is equivalent to 4 days of production in a city of 210,000 inhabitants. The calculations were based on the 875 tons generated by the show in the previous year, and
none of these tons were sent to landfill . Other measures adopted by the organization include
dry works, saving and reusing water resources, energy savings, selective collection, recycling program and proper disposal . “The
CASACOR São Paulo event is a great laboratory that allows us to experiment with innovations with creativity, always associated with the best sustainable practices. We hope that this achievement will be an inspiration for the entire market”, says
Darlan Firmato , Sustainability Manager of the show.
The awareness of architects, interior designers and landscapers, in addition to the reinforcement of partners – such as Ciclo, which takes care of Waste Management, and
Carbon Free , responsible for the event's carbon offsetting –, combined with constant monitoring by the event's management, has made
CASACOR evolve to its current stage.

According to
Vicenzo Zaratin , from
Ciclo , “one of the main pillars of this event is
sustainability . Therefore, our goal of not harming the environment in the country has always been non-negotiable. The zero waste methodology was an important tool, and its certification represents validation that
CASACOR , once again, is on the right path.”
