CASACOR Rio 2022: 23 projects apply sustainable construction methods

To renew the atmosphere of Residência Brando Barbosa, in its second consecutive year based in the iconic property, CASACOR Rio decided to prioritize the property's external spaces, especially the garden with a total area of 12 thousand m². Housing 23 environments, the external area is divided between gastronomic complex, commercial areas and Vila CASACOR – all projects that took the modular structure as the basis for their creations. Offsite construction, also used in the last edition of the Rio de Janeiro show, demonstrated – in addition to clean construction and speed of execution – versatility, technology and efficient logistics for the creation of modern and uncomplicated environments. The use of this construction model has been gaining prominence with increasingly creative and innovative projects – as is the case of the environments created by architects and designers Sérgio Conde Caldas , Rafael Mirza , Caco Borges , Jorge Delmas and Mário Costa Santos , which combine technological differentiation and lots of functionality. In the 110 ^m2 space designed by designer and architect Mário Costa Santos , for example, four grouped modules form two separate volumes that house the beautiful marble statue that exists on site – which was the starting point for his project. “Using these modules provided a lot of agility and the logistics I needed gave me a surprising result,” he says. The architect was inspired by the Modern Art Week of 22 to create his space entitled Pavilhão 22. In it, the professional used expressive symbols of modernism that, reinterpreted, were transformed into genuine contemporary architecture , full of high construction technology . The Espaço Studio Cubo, created by Jorge Delmas , was inspired by the new concept and trend of living in a studio – however, very functional, practical and comfortable, maintaining the Carioca way of living: unpretentious, with charm and coziness. The room modules have different measurements and a ceiling height of three meters , factors that allow for more options for projects.
