In partnership with Carbon Free Brasil — a company whose purpose is to improve the environment in which we live, raise awareness among people and inspire sustainable changes —, CASACOR São Paulo got its hands dirty and offset 326 tons of carbon — from the 2021 and 2022 exhibitions and yearbooks — by planting native trees in the Atlantic Forest areas. The trees were planted with the support of the Carbon Free Brasil technical team, with biologists and environmental engineers who ensure the growth of the plants and, consequently, the fixation of carbon. “It is very important that we are here today. These are sustainability actions that we started in 2015, creating a whole system with the environment and, mainly, with the impacts that an action like ours causes”, explains Darlan Firmato , sustainability manager at CASACOR . “It was a dream we had to offset our carbon emissions not only with credits, but also to carry out soil regeneration , ecosystem regeneration, and regeneration of a forest as important as the Atlantic Forest . So, for us, it is nothing but satisfaction,” he adds. (Adriana Barbosa/CASACOR)
The action of "carbon neutralization" means capturing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere that are emitted during activities and incorporating them into forestry projects. Thus, this initiative by CASACOR, in partnership with Carbon Free, totals and represents: - 326 tons of carbon neutralized;
- 6,520 m² of native forest restored;
- 327 Trees planted (to neutralize emissions in 2021 and 2022) with four years of mentoring by Carbon Free.
