AkzoNobel and Green Mining launch paint can recycling program

Committed to valuing recyclable materials and reducing the impacts caused by improper waste disposal, the company AkzoNobel and the startup Green Mining are launching a rewards program for the paint market. The goal is to encourage consumers and, especially, painters to dispose of paint packaging properly.

Called " Painting the Future " , the action seeks to promote the recovery of post-consumer packaging efficiently, bringing it back into the production cycle.

At collection points located in three Casa Toni stores and three in Bazar das Tintas, all in the city of São Paulo, consumers will be able to deliver empty paint buckets and cans and accumulate points that can be exchanged for gifts such as t-shirts, caps, overalls and trenches or for discounts on future purchases. Packaging of any type or brand will be accepted, however, plastic buckets and those from the Coral brand will have a higher score. The scoring system works as follows:
