The first meeting of the
CASACOR Rio 2022 cast took place on Wednesday, February 9, and kicked off the 31st edition of the show. Architects, landscapers and interior designers participated in the first operational meeting of the exhibition, which this year takes place from
April 27th to June 26th . This time, the starting point is
CASACOR 's national theme in 2022, "
Infinite Particular ", which will allow professionals to present diverse and plural solutions for a home with a soul, hyperconnected, full of affectionate memories and, of course, a lot of personality .
In this edition, the event occupies, for the second consecutive year, the
Brando Barbosa Residence , a mansion next to the Botanical Garden, surrounded by 12 thousand square meters of Atlantic Forest gardens –
but in a very different way, with a new look ,
much more contemporary . If last year the relics acquired by the former owners – the couple Jorge and Odaléa Brando Barbosa – in antique shops, convents, farmhouses and churches in the interior of Brazil were the big stars, this year, professionals promise
temporary interventions with innovative solutions that can be replicated in other properties with palatial airs throughout Brazil.
Not surprisingly,
the proposals for each of the environments will be very different – both in terms of decoration and function. The first major change will be in the visitor circuit, which will gain a new route starting with the residence's old
porte-cochère . The second floor, where last year the intimate area with bedrooms,
home office and bathroom was located, will now be presented as a
kind of hostel for guests of the Brando Barbosa Institute , such as directors of institutions, artists and designers; which would have studios, an office, a meeting room and a spa balcony at their disposal. Another environment that promises to surprise is the kitchen:
one of the most striking from last year, this edition will house a café , allowing visitors to make the most of that space. A gastronomic complex with a restaurant, pizzeria, bistro and wine bar will be the
big news in the entertainment area , located in the garden; and there will also be a space for quick snacks at the pool bar. In the garden, another new feature will be an area dedicated to ateliers and studios.
Among the
professionals already confirmed are names such as Anna Luiza Rothier, Caco Borges, Celso Rayol, Dado Castello Branco, Erick Figueira de Melo, Gisele Taranto, Maurício Nóbrega, Paola Ribeiro and Paula Neder.
In the presentation to the participants, the managing partners of CASACOR Rio Patricia Mayer and Patricia Quentel, who have organized the exhibition since the first edition in 1991, also explained that, as in the last edition, the
exhibition will be hybrid : in this way, it will have a in-person version, focusing on the home visit experience; and a
