Concepts of peace, calm, ergonomics mixed with design and urbanism are the guiding principles of Yamagata Arquitetura's project at
CASA COR São Paulo 2016. The office, which this year opened its branch in the São Paulo metropolis and has two associates (interior designer Bruno Rangel and style consultant Aldi Flosi), debuts at the São Paulo show with
Shoji 04 , an 84 m² space that recalls the small, cozy spaces of Japan, but without ethnic folklore: the box could be found in any cosmopolitan city in the world.
The trio based their work on the most basic principles of urban architecture when creating
Shoji 04 : space optimization, sustainability, ergonomics and poetry. The same wood, which serves as a partition, lets in light generously, in line with the principles of sustainability and connection with nature.
The oriental aesthetic philosophy of Wabisabi, where the beauty of imperfections is highly valued, is also present in this metropolitan oasis that has the patience of white as the predominant color in the concrete slabs, industrial elements and walls weathered by the action of time.
The art curation is signed by Alessandro Sartore, bringing together works by artists with universal prestige, soul and ID from Rio de Janeiro. But, once again, without geographical apartheid, looking at the contemporary home in a much more Zen way, which interprets a modern narrative of ancestral values in the domestic space.
