For many years, tables had a single function: to host meals. It was at the beginning of the 20th century that the piece gained other functions. Furniture underwent changes in size, materials and also in its form of use. There is currently a huge variety on the market: coffee tables, side tables, dining tables, sideboards, made of wood, glass, plastic, polycarbonate, among many other variations.
Amidst all these transformations, one that has not lost its value is the coffee table. Versatile and useful both in its functionality and as a decorative piece, it is the center of attention in a living room. At CASA COR Goiás 2016 , they are present in almost every room. In the Library, the round coffee table in openwork wood is a prominent feature in the space designed by architect Cláudia Zuppani. The piece of furniture contrasts between simplicity and luxury to welcome readers and researchers. The result is harmony and comfort.
Architect Carine Rocha's proposal shows another possibility. In the Lounge , designed by the professional, not just one, but three tables of different sizes make up the center of the living room. The pieces are all made of glass with a gold metal base, chosen with the intention that they contribute to the composition of a space conducive to relaxation.
In Lounge 9 , architects Ana Paula de Castro and Sanderson Porto invested in a rectangular table that looks like three. It is divided into three equal parts, and with a glass top and black metal base, its low height allows residents to sit on the floor and enjoy its functionality.
Each with its own style, coffee tables play a fundamental role in spaces such as the one designed by architect Anna Paula Melo, the Wine Bar . She chose a piece with two round tables joined together. The mirrored piece adds the final touch of class to the space that combines noble and rustic elements with a classic and sophisticated soul.
