If you thought there were limits to where you could put plants at home, '
shower plants ' are here to prove you wrong. The term for 'shower plants', in Portuguese, is nothing more than what its name suggests: that is,
plants that invade the decoration of the shower or bathtub area . It's a trend: whether it's a sumptuous
vertical garden or a fun arrangement of pots,
plants in the shower are conquering an increasing number of homes. We've already shown you here that plants are great allies for
creating a vegetable garden in the kitchen , and we've also convinced you to give
plants in the bedroom a chance; now it's the turn of
shower plants . Are you unsure whether to join? Check out 10 ideas for plants in the bathroom below!
Greenery enters the
SPA da Mata in two ways: through the large glass openings, which look out onto the outdoor garden; and through the
vertical garden located next to the bathtub . In the project by
Andrea Teixeira and
Fernanda Negrelli at
CASACOR São Paulo 2018, the height of the ceiling is enhanced with vertical elements, which make the most of the texture of the stones and wood to bring relaxation.
As a true urban refuge,
Márcio Michaluá 's
Urban Cabin is a hybrid, bringing together references from art, design, architecture and photography.
And of course, landscaping . The latter, designed by
Renata Tilli , blesses the cabin with a sense of well-being and connection. In the bathroom area, a composition of
hanging vases and various species create a true
urban jungle of relaxation .
In the contemporary residence created by the
UP3 Arquitetura office at
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2021,
landscaping is part of the house's architecture . This is because the entire house was covered in glass panels – an essential element to
camouflage the house in the garden and bring the greenery inside . Behind the bathtub, a beautiful garden brings back other natural elements, such as stone, which also covers the surface of the floors. The
proposal to reconnect with nature is completed in the bathroom, where the only color that catches the eye is natural green.

Casa Grão , owned by partners Fernanda Tegacini, Fernanda Morais and Nathalia Mouco of
Très Arquitetura, is based on the premise of a generation that is searching for a
more detached, altruistic and humanized life . This is how the house came about in the shape of a glass box, which includes a living room, dining room with a small kitchen, terrace and master suite. The shades of green run through the fabrics and surfaces of the house, but it is in the
interior garden where it reaches its maximum power. In addition to the bathtub area, this green also runs along the back of the
kitchen on a single wall , almost like a green frame.
The 70 m²
bathroom designed by
W. Leão Ogawa and
Heitor Arrais is like a world apart. Beneath the natural light that enters through the large windows, there is a composition of
hundreds of pots of different sizes and plants – with a special preference for native Brazilian species. The free-standing furniture includes a
bathtub strategically positioned to enjoy the view. Nature also appears in the wood, the raw material for the ceiling and furniture. The project was part of
CASACOR Goiás 2018.
The original palatial elements of the residence have all been preserved in this sophisticated space. In the
Guest Suite , the contrast between old and new is evident in the moldings, flooring, doors and windows with elaborate carpentry. The bathroom offers a special atmosphere
focused on reconnecting with oneself and recharging one's batteries . The vertical garden reinforces the relaxation vocation of the space designed by
Angela Leite Barbosa and
Daniel Marques Mendes at CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2021.
Large sandstone walls, sculptural panels made of reclaimed wood and gardens encourage contemplation of nature at
Casa do Bosque , by
Olegário de Sá and
Gilberto Cioni . Throughout the residence,
contrasting elements appear side by side , such as the wooden table set against pink armchairs in the dining room; or in the bathroom, where the
shower area features a ceiling with a tropical print, gold metals by Deca and occasional landscaping. The open shower also allows natural light to flow in and allows for contemplation of the nature just ahead.
Only 6 m² were needed for
Izabel Maynart ,
Rosângela Oliveira and
Valter Félix to create a rest room punctuated by wood. The
Teenager's Bathroom , a space at
CASACOR Ribeirão Preto 2018, is bold and reflects the search for the new, common in the transition between childhood and adolescence. Outside, the preferred material is gray porcelain, which covers the floor and walls of the space. In the wet areas,
slatted wood takes center stage,
amplifying the presence of natural elements , also reinforced by the vertical garden inside the shower.
Débora Aguiar 's contemporary home for CASACOR São Paulo 2019 features a bathroom to match. At 480 m², the
Dolce Villa Todeschini house is a
sophisticated and elegant urban retreat surrounded by nature . Greenery is also explored inside the minimalist bathroom, through pots fitted into the walls, a vertical waterfall of plants and a discreet garden near the bathtub area. A light wood panel sculpts the bottom of the bathtub, which, placed on a stone platform, is flanked by symmetrically arranged showers.
