Located in a nice house on Rua Ferreira de Araújo in Pinheiros, the PIÙ restaurant underwent a four-month renovation that
expanded its total usable area and
created new open areas in the dining room .
The restaurant, which only had a few potted plants, received a new and complete garden – with the air of Italian gardens – created by landscaper
João Queiroz .
Numerous
flower boxes and
herbs typical of Italian cuisine suggest a cozy atmosphere for the restaurant's customers, who were able to visit the garden when the restaurant reopened on May 4th.
The area, which was previously the swimming pool of the house next door, now houses many vases with flowers and typical garden species from the “house of the nona”, such as
rosemary, goldfish, basil, and fruit trees, such as Sicilian lemon and Roma , which guarantee for chef
Marcelo Laskani to have the classic aromas of Italian recipes at hand. The timelessness of flowers such as
azaleas, bougainvillea and red jade are also present. John also considered plants that are often considered “bush,” such as
English carpet and pennyweed . The new environment was designed to remain beautiful all year round, even with the hectic routine of a restaurant – in which sometimes there is no time for the team to dedicate themselves to caring for the plants. With
a self-irrigating system , the landscaper guarantees a low-maintenance, beautiful garden all year round. Furthermore, Queiroz opted for species that, even without flowers, remain beautiful.
“My inspiration came from old mansions in Pinheiros, reminiscent of those of Italian grandmothers. A garden like this always has a functional aspect linked to food, so I used many
typical garden species . I tried to create a large garden in a small space, which, like Più, grows and matures alongside its customers, which is a home away from home, where there is no shortage of food and comfort”, explained Queiroz.
After four months of renovation, PIÙ gained a large space,
going from 74 to 112 seats . The outdoor area has 48 spaces, all with views of the garden. The restaurant's facade has several potted plants that invite those passing by on the street to discover the new PIÙ.
