Parque Augusta is a very emblematic project in São Paulo, which has undergone a series of obstacles and changes until it became what it is today:
a space that rescues the city's history and offers a delightful green area to enjoy the city . The project was designed by architect and urban planner Samuel Kruchin, from
Kruchin Arquitetura , in a partnership involving SETIN Incorporadora, Cyrela and the Municipal Secretariat for Green and Environment of the City of São Paulo (SMVA). The inauguration took place on the 6th. November of this year.
In addition to taking advantage of the tree-lined public spaces, the architect paid special attention to rescuing the city's history in the project. "The most important part of the entire process was
incorporating historical records that were buried . It is a park that also helps tell part of the city's history." education in the capital, its public spaces and its gardens", comments Samuel Kruchin.
The land is located on the former grounds of the Santa Mônica School, the Sedes Sapientiae Institute and the traditional Colégio Des Oiseaux – the latter, in fact, inspired the creation of the Jardim Des Oiseaux. The historic buildings date back to the 20th century, and to bring them to life, the architect restored the original entrance to the Santa Mônica School, the wall facing Rua Augusta and one of the secondary buildings in Jardim Des Oiseaux. In this building, an intervention made in the long period of inactivity of the lot:
the graffiti of an anteater, creation of an anonymous artist .
