National Environment Week is celebrated. In
Tocantins , where it takes place the second edition in the
Janelas format, the board of the local franchise and the Palmas Municipal Environmental Foundation began, last Wednesday, the
definitive tree planting and landscaping of the surroundings of the José Gomes Sobrinho Cultural Space. The site where the exhibition is being held will become the '
Arts Park ', a large open-air art gallery surrounded by native species. In this way, the symbolic planting of
21 native Cerrado trees – such as faveiras – was initiated. of acorns, angicos and ipês. In addition to the more than
20 palm trees that have already been planted by the exhibition management and that will remain as a legacy.
Recycling
The management of
CASACOR Tocantins and the FMA also signed a cooperation agreement to implement a
selective collection point at the exhibition. The Ecopoint for the delivery of recyclables has already been installed in the green area of the Cultural Space. All deposited material must be
sent to associations recycling center in the city of Palmas. The intention, according to one of the directors of the Tocantins franchise,
Patrícia Schüller , is to help promote
changes in habits towards less polluting lifestyles . Franchise partner,
Cristiany Scaramussa , also points out that this type of action contributes to the
percentage increase in recycled and recovered waste , generating environmental, social and economic benefits, such as job and income generation.
