It's no secret that the air quality in big cities isn't the best – and can even be harmful to your health. Not only on the streets, but also in our homes and offices, we are exposed to impurities in the air with inevitable constancy – after all, urban pollution is everywhere. Despite this, there are ways to alleviate the situation and plants that purify the air are perhaps the best of them.
What NASA says

The research came as a response to a phenomenon that became known as "sick building syndrome" which, at the end of the 20th century, represented diseases arising from poor air circulation and lack of filtration inside buildings. The study took two years to complete. As a result, it was found that some species are capable of naturally filtering the air and removing organic pollutants present in it, such as benzene, formaldehyde and trichloroethylene. In total, 18 species of plants were identified that purify the air in environments. See what they are in the gallery!
