Sit back, relax, enjoy the view and the feeling of comfort: these were some of the wishes of landscapers Catê Poli and João Jadão when designing their environment for the 33rd CASACOR São Paulo which, this year, is housed in Parque Mirante, attached to the Allianz Arena Park.

Taking advantage of the warm and cozy climate of the season, the CASACOR Rooftop environment was designed as a summer refuge with a total area of 224 m². "We were inspired by the rustic beach clubs of Tulum, Ibiza, Mykonos, evoking an oasis in the middle of the city . Everything was designed to be used and enjoyed, allowing visitors to enjoy the view of Casa das Caldeiras ", points out landscape designer Catê Poli.

Very linked to the trend of having a vacation space at home , the CASACOR Rooftop is like a reminder of how connection with nature is capable of relaxing, of making everyone reconnect with what is essential. "It's a space to rest and be filled with feelings of hope that the pandemic will soon be over."

The duo had the challenge of transforming the space's slab, previously entirely made of cement, into a pleasant, attractive and cozy area for the public . "We had to pay attention to details, as we couldn't do drastic drilling or put too much weight on the slab. Choosing species resistant to full sun and wind was also essential", he highlights.

To achieve this, the duo chose to design the environment with several lounges, alternating open areas and others with perforated coverings , which still allow the sun to pass through. All the furniture is designed for the outdoor area , consisting of sofas and chaises made of high-performance waterproof fabric, resistant to the elements.

They were combined with coffee tables made of solid Pequiá wood and Itaúba logs and synthetic straw ombrelone , capable of bringing rusticity combined with innovation, since the material is more resistant , including fire. "Because they are light and made of foam, the furniture allows mobility and layout flexibility ", says the duo.
Embracing this entire relaxation area, the carefully thought out landscaping highlights eight jabuticab trees , a native Brazilian fruit, and mango jasmine , a species from the 70s that has once again become widely used. Taking advantage of the possibility of creating a CASACOR with a summer climate , other species such as Clusia, Guaimbê, Liriope Verde, Ofiopogon Variegato, Formio Verde, Moreia Branca and Dianela Variegata complement the landscaping.

"They are resistant species, which do not require a lot of water, easy to care for and maintain. It is a garden capable of being easily transported to a real project ", they state. Sitta Maria's drainage floor facilitates water drainage. To complement this, Vietnamese and handcrafted vases bring the environment closer to the theme of the exhibition, which this year highlights a return to origins, simplicity and rustic style.

And to further enhance the species, the lighting project included a low light bollard and long-rod skewers, reinforcing the Rooftop's summer aesthetic. "We have a tradition of designing environments that can be used, enjoyed, and that are also concerned with sustainability ", highlights Catê Poli. Therefore, the lighting is LED, low consumption, and all items and plants used there can be donated or reused at the end of the exhibition , avoiding discards and waste.
