A
refuge amidst nature were the big bets for
balconies and gardens for
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2021. The contemporaneity of the projects was reflected in an innovative way and gave new meaning to the outside.
Lots of greenery, modernity and coziness! These three characteristics were combined in the construction of the projects. We selected six beautiful examples that personify this year's Rio event.
In the middle of a residential garden , architect Roberta Nicolau opted for blue-toned cushions to create a space where you can relax and socialize while enjoying the fresh air and nature. The
urban style is contrasted with a delicate design by designer
Rafael Mirre on the walls, which shows that it is possible to incorporate a delicate aspect into the project without much effort. Called
Chá Bar , the project featured elements typical of a more industrial atmosphere, such as bricks and iron that pave the space.
The
Casa UP project took nature into account in different ways: sometimes in the creation of a welcoming space, sometimes in the way it was created, respecting the environment
without generating almost any waste . With a Rio de Janeiro style mixed with
Scandinavian , the garden project brings a true connection with nature. Leading the project, Michelle Wilkinson, Thiago Morsh and Cadé Marino, from
UP3 Arquitetura , invested in
shades of gray mainly to compose the garden, as it is a color that conveys
warmth and tranquility . An openwork
lilac panel on the back of the poufs adds a more modern touch to the calm atmosphere.
Called
Cooking 2 Go Emporium , the garden was created to host
picnics and offer visitors a unique experience. The place sells the delicacies made by
Cooking Buffet and can be consumed anywhere. The project innovated with the creation of
metal structures separating the environments , ensuring privacy without giving up the integration between the inside and outside. The
contrast between white and red works well together, and the space calls for sunny days to enjoy the
modern atmosphere. A
concrete cube was incorporated into the center to serve as a table for visitors.
The impressive modern tilework inspired by
Noel Marinho 's classics was present at this year's event. Named
Terraço NM in homage, the project was designed by Patricia Marinho, Manuèle Colás, Heloísa Amaral Peixoto and Carolina Cascardo, from Estúdio Design Noel Marinho. The mix between classic and contemporary is evident. The house has an older style, and the tiles create a
modern intervention in the space. Highlights include the
pieces designed in the outdoor area by Patrícia, who made them during quarantine using some of her father Noel Marinho's tiles.
The Couple's Balcony was designed by landscaper Anna Luiza Rothier. Functionality and beauty were the hallmarks of the project, which can be used as a space to relax, enjoy nature and welcome guests. The space was designed in a more intimate way, where a couple can enjoy the view, watch a sunset and enjoy the romantic atmosphere that the space offers through its
tropical climate fostered by the use of
wood, colors and the nature that surrounds the balcony .
