At Janelas CASACOR , professionals from all over Brazil were challenged to think about the new perspectives and needs of architecture and decoration in the post-pandemic period. It is no easy task to design a new home that is functional, but above all cozy and welcoming, to serve of refuge in such a difficult period. Contact with nature has been a trend that has crossed over into many environments, in the form of indoor vertical gardens, hanging gardens, horizontal gardens or even potted gardens. The reality is that there is something very elemental about green that refreshes spaces and renews energy. Considering social isolation, it is essential to stay in tune with life, through plants.

In environments with reduced area or apartments, vertical gardens and hanging gardens are the intuitive choice to include green in the project. Green walls are very versatile, and can be applied in practically any room: from Ana Paula's Bathroom Paolinelli, to Ju Nejaim's Home Office . Another solution for creating a garden was to use the furniture itself. The Centro Cerâmico Living Room has a hanging support to hold small vases and the Simplicity living room, by Brunete Fraccaroli, uses the niches of a white wooden bookcase to accommodate foliage.
Outdoor garden
Some projects that had outdoor areas surrounded their environments with beautiful gardens, designed by landscapers. The lush park of the LG Connected House was created by Bia Abreu and will remain permanently as a park in São Paulo; Flávio Abílio created the garden that embraces not only the surroundings , but the container itself that forms the Elo Studio . Finally, the Equilíbrio project proposes a true mini forest.

Even without a garden in the traditional sense, it is perfectly possible to bring nature into interiors. These spaces use large and small pots, arranged on the floor or on shelves, to add a decorative and sometimes even practical touch. In rooms such as the kitchen , potted plants can serve as a source of fresh herbs.
