Soon after exchanging an apartment in Leblon for this three-story house in
São Conrado (RJ), the new owner commissioned the
Horto Girassol office (from the
CASACOR Rio cast) to design a dense, voluminous, varied and very tropical landscaping project that would bloom in different seasons of the year.

In some areas, such as the entrance, it was also important that the new garden provided privacy, as the house is located in a gated community, without walls.

“On the ground floor, we explored
flowering in shades of pink, red and orange , which are tropical in nature. We used many
species with large leaves and marked veins to bring more grandeur and density to the garden,” says landscaper
Maira Duarte .
On the terrace, which is on the third floor, the main intention was to hide the pool, sauna and bathroom from neighboring buildings (including a school) and integrate the green of the mountains with the house, providing greater visual and acoustic comfort.

“In general, we like to vary textures, where wider foliage becomes a background for thinner leaves in the foreground. This way, we can create art in the form of a garden,” adds Maira.
