Mauro Contesini - Mezzetino Staircase. "The access ramp that connects the two floors of CASACOR has been transformed into a place of contemplation in Mauro Contesini's project. Plants that bring back memories of grandmothers' houses, such as ferns, maidenhair ferns and coleus, make up the space's vegetation. The lighting creates a welcoming atmosphere. "By taking advantage of the amber light, we created an atmosphere that feels like a sunset. A poetic way of welcoming visitors," he says. At the entrance, the Mezzetino sculpture by artist Sônia Menna Barreto gives the space its name.

In the most unlikely place in the exhibition, the access ramp that connected the two floors of CASACOR São Paulo in 2021, Mauro Contesini created a place of contemplation filled with species that awaken affective memories.
With the premise of evoking the welcoming atmosphere of a " grandmother's house ", the landscaper chose to fill the Mezzetino Staircase with ferns, maidenhair ferns and coleus – plants so common in the most traditional homes in the country.

The space, which used to be a passageway, now has a cozy feel, partly due to the scenic lighting . “By taking advantage of the amber light, we created an atmosphere that felt like a sunset . A poetic way of welcoming visitors.” , explains Contesini. Finally, at the entrance, a detail that does not go unnoticed: the sculpture Mezzetino by artist Sônia Menna Barreto , which gives the space its name.
