The project by landscaper Leandro de Paula Araújo is a vibrant flower garden in an intense orange color, with two thousand units of Sunpatiens (Impatiens hybrida), with white dots. The space also houses four Elephant Paws (Beaucarnea recurvata), as well as Green Phormium (Phormium tenax) and Bambu Arecas (Dypsis lutescens). The landscaper used construction and demolition waste stones to highlight the species and design the landscaping, which has the concept of awakening visual emotion through colors, in a space that strives for simplicity and poetry.

It is common for people to make two types of mistakes in the summer: watering plants less than necessary , after all, at this time of year, they require more water than normal and, in addition, the water tends to evaporate more quickly; or exactly the opposite: excessive watering or watering concentrated in a single spot , which could leave the plant soaked. Therefore, balance is extremely necessary! “During this period, you need to pay more attention to the plant’s hydration, so always put your finger in the soil to check the soil’s moisture . Also, check if the saucers or drawers have excess water after watering,” recommends the landscaper Luiz Gustavo, from Folha Paisagismo.
“A tip is to spray water on the leaves gently , watering slowly and evenly, to make sure the plant is absorbing what it needs, and not doing this during times of intense sunlight. Therefore, leave this watering for the early morning or late afternoon ”, advises landscaper Luiz Felipe, from Folha Paisagismo.

Home care

Because the sun's position changes at this time of year, it's important to keep an eye on your plants if they're getting more or less sunlight than they need . Be especially careful with those that can't get direct sunlight on their leaves. One idea is: change the location of the vases so that there is a balance between light and shadow.

Pruning

Another tip is not to do drastic pruning in the summer , as autumn is generally a better season for this purpose. Therefore, only do routine pruning or cleaning of dry leaves and branches and leave the more complex ones for later. Everything has its right time!

Fertilizing

Do you have flowering plants? Then take advantage of this time of year to fertilize them with organic fertilizers . And, regardless of the season, always be aware of pests and weeds in the pots.
