Roberto Burle Marx
And who else but Roberto Burle Marx to open our list of great names in landscaping? Responsible for the entire urban scope of
Sítio Burle Marx , now considered a

The Burle Marx site, located in Barra de Guaratiba, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, was created in the 20th century and features a series of native species to create a "water garden". The space served as the home of the great landscaper for years, and he decorated the space using pieces of art from his personal collection, which made the place more intimate and complete. It's pure art! Roberto Burle Marx was the landscaper responsible for creating the concept of the "modern tropical garden", which combined the use of native species with a touch of modern architecture.
Rosa Kliass
Rosa Kliass is one of the most influential names in modern Brazilian landscaping. In addition to being a landscaper, she is also the author of the book "O Livro da Rosa", a speaker and founder of Abap (Brazilian Association of Architects and Landscapers). Kliass simply revolutionized landscaping within architecture, and came to be known as the "poet of the landscape". She has been in charge of major projects, especially in São Paulo, such as the revitalization of Avenida Paulista, Anhangabaú Park and Parque da Juventude , the latter of which even earned her an award in 2004 at the Quito Architecture Biennial. The Parque da Juventude was by far one of the biggest challenges the architect faced, after all, the space, now an inviting place for young people to gather and relax, was once the scene of one of the biggest massacres in Brazil, the Carandiru Penitentiary Complex.
In 1999, seven years after the massacre, the State Government opened a public competition to create the
Parque da Juventude in the area, and Rosa Kliass, in partnership with the firm Aflalo & Gasperini, won. The architect's work of combining landscaping and different species on all sides, as well as including sports areas, brought life back to the place.
Gilberto Elkis
Gilberto Elkis is considered
one of the greatest names in landscaping today , with projects that have been winning over the public with their charm and beauty for over 30 years. Greatly inspired by the
Atlantic Forest , his love for nature is always present in each of the projects he has completed. The landscaper stands out for being a great researcher, who is always looking for new and charismatic species to compose his projects.

Throughout his career, Elkis has participated in 12 CASACOR exhibitions with incredible projects that awaken the desire to live there. The Lago project, which we see in the image above, was designed by the landscaper and featured a mix of plants, natural stones and water to create a true oasis of rest.

260,000 m² in Brumadinho/MG - a project that he worked on from June 2000 until the inauguration in September 2006.
Alex Hanazaki
Alex Hanazaki is another big name that cannot be overlooked when it comes to landscaping. The specialist always combines a contemporary touch in his projects, which sets trends and reflects his cosmopolitan soul. When observing the landscaper's projects, we realize that even in more urban environments, including a landscaping project brings the necessary lightness in the right measure.
The landscaper
has already created gardens for CASACOR São Paulo that are true works of art , as is the case of Origens Portinari, one of the spaces that marked the São Paulo exhibition this year, which features the alliance between nature and the urban environment.
Benedito Abbud
Architect and landscaper Benedito Abbud is a true master of architecture, having designed more than 5,000 spaces that combine nature and sophistication. The focus of his projects is to bring quality of life and well-being in more cosmopolitan atmospheres, and for this reason, his history of places transformed by his delicate vision ranges from squares to shopping malls.
Benedito Abbud has signed projects all over Brazil, one of which is simply memorable is the Jefferson Péres Park, in Manaus, which has an area of 40,752 m², and was designed by the architect down to the smallest detail, exploring the best way to use it.
Rodrigo Oliveira
Straight from engineering to become a true artist, Rodrigo Oliveira is an agricultural engineer and specialized in arborism. Always aware of trends, the specialist gained experience in the United States, since the country began to think about landscaping before Brazil, and then returned with all this experience and simply transformed environments in a free and at the same time strategic way.

In 2018, the landscaper was present at CASACOR São Paulo, offering a beautiful garden for those who want to relax, socialize, read and get inspired. Named Jardim da Casa do Relógio, the space is the perfect place to spend the afternoon. Highlighting all the Brazilianness reflected in the use of "pau-brasil" as the main plant in the environment.
Isabel Duprat
For over 40 years, Isabel Duprat has been enchanting Brazil with her beautiful urban planning projects. The architect and landscaper has always seen gardens as a way to contemplate nature and explore it to bring more freedom and comfort, whether in a residential, commercial or park and square project.
The architect was raised in the countryside, in the interior of São Paulo, and was simply enchanted by nature and decided to bring the charms of her homeland to the big cities. One of her works that is worth remembering (or getting to know) is the Botanical Garden. Duprat was inspired by unique species of trees to compose the space and the result was a pleasant environment that is a pleasure to live in.
Renata Tilli
Chic and versatile: these are certainly two words that best describe the gardens created by Renata Tilli, which are, in fact, temples of pure comfort and relaxation. In addition, the professional focuses on the concept of
Sustainable Gardens in construction, that is, with the least environmental impact from the cultivation of the plants to the way they are portrayed in the environment.
Proof of this was Tilli's participation in CASACOR São Paulo in 2018, signing the urban design project for SysHaus, a project designed by none other than Arthur Casas. The construction is a modular home that combines coziness, freshness and thermal comfort. The exterior was named
Jardim Tempo .
Ricardo Cardim
Contact with landscaping is something profound for botanist Ricardo Cardim, a native of São Paulo who has been bringing species and green resources to the city of São Paulo. He graduated in botany from USP and began to deepen his studies in the development of projects that use native plants. Ricardo Cardim has already participated in several
CASACOR exhibitions, always with a community and sensitive perspective. An example of this was the botanist's participation in CASACOR São Paulo, presenting the
Lágrimas de Alegria project, which invites visitors to save the Figueira das Lágrimas, one of the oldest native species.
Always with a social objective, another project that the professional was involved in was some
urban garden projects in the city and even in a scope that had the objective of reforesting São Paulo and bringing the Atlantic Forest to the metropolis, having been responsible for being the pioneer in creating a "Public Pocket Forest".
