How to have a practical organic garden at home

In addition to environments that bring decorative and structural solutions to homes, the professionals at Casa Cor Santa Catarina 2015 have their sights set on fans of healthy foods. In the Meu Loft environment, by architects Marila Filártiga and Beto Gebara, there is an appliance that allows the cultivation of organic and natural vegetables, reflecting the way of life of those who care about their health.

The Plantarium has small dimensions, 45 cm wide, 49 cm deep and 73 cm high, which can be installed in small homes and allows the cultivation of up to nine species, in individual pots. It also has its own irrigation, lighting and ventilation system, where the owner only needs to worry about choosing the type of food planted and placing the seeds. The containers come with the organic substrate ready.

“The defense of materials included in the concept of sustainability is something incorporated into our lives not only as architects, but as citizens”, declares Beto Gebara.

The duo's space is 60 m² and was designed for a financial market executive, modern, sportsman, attentive to sustainability issues and whose hobby is functional gastronomy. The environment was inspired by the first New York lofts of the 60s and 70s, where artists and musicians occupied old factories and made them their homes.
