These are the last days of
CASACOR Santa Catarina : the exhibition, on display since September 18 at the Silveira de Souza School, is entering the final stretch of this memorable edition that revitalized the century-old institute to house the new cultural center of Florianópolis. With
28 environments and a
With a diverse cast of veterans and young talents , the show leaves behind a variety of techniques and proposals that range from the global to the local.

Sustainability is present in various ways in the exhibition spaces. Ecologically responsible architecture is the concern, for example, of the
Alpes Arquitetura office, which, in its
MOVAE Space (“to welcome” in Tupi), features a deck with a wooden floor. Eco-friendly plastic. The material brings a cozy touch and warms up the
décor , while at the same time offering significant advantages over its similar materials – such as, for example, high durability and easy maintenance.
In
Praça da Ilha , architect
Fernanda Sacks presents the furniture as one of the highlights. Versatile and casual, like the climate of the city of Santa Catarina, it is composed of loose furniture for outdoor areas made from
fishing nets taken from the sea , in a partnership with Projeto Tamar. Another highlight is the lighting design developed by
lighting designer William Imianovsky , which includes
custom fixtures made from bioplastic , a sustainable and biodegradable material produced from natural sources such as corn and coffee.

Innovation is also a key word at this year's Santa Catarina show. In the “
I'm from here, I'm not from Mars ” space,
GF Arquitetos , by professionals Beto Gebara and Marila Filártiga, next to
Terraço Paisagismo , by architect Rodrigo Gheller, seeks to enhance Brazilian architecture and tropical vegetation. The cobogó, a typically national element, appears in the space in a special version created by designers
Marcelo Rosenbaum and
Rodrigo Ambrosio . The pieces in the Mundaú line, in homage to the lake of the same name, were developed based on of
sururu shells , a mollusk that is an intangible heritage of Alagoas.
Another item with a Brazilian touch is the macramé panel "Puentes", created by artisan
Natalia Pique exclusively for the space. Based on the concept of interconnection, the piece was hand-woven using
nautical cord suitable for outdoor areas. Other works of art enhance the local intangible heritage, with distinctive works by
Marinela Goulart and
Camila Saavedra .

Another space where lighting plays a leading role is the
Living dos Encontros , by
Cris Passing and
Anderson Schüssler , from the PS Arquitetos office. To enhance the verticality of the space with a high ceiling, measuring 4.45m high, the professionals designed large floor/ceiling panels that combine carpentry and lighting. The
tensioned screen stands out in the central point of the space, providing diffuse and cozy lighting. Modern and innovative, this type of piece uses a translucent screen fixed to aluminum profiles in different formats to cover the LED lights below. The result is a comfortable light that makes the room elegant and modern.
