CASACOR Minas Gerais reaches the final stretch of its 27th edition this weekend: lasting 45 days , the show gave the public the opportunity to visit and also experience the environments that interpret the theme " Infinito Particular ", bringing information, inspiration and news for the public – such as the importance of reconnecting with the home and the vital role of architecture, design and the environment in improving quality of life. This edition also marks the farewell to the Palácio das Mangabeiras , transformed into the Parque do Palácio, a place that has hosted the exhibition for three editions. “ CASACOR ends its three-edition season at the iconic Palácio das Mangabeiras. From 2019 to 2022, the exhibition hosted approximately 200 thousand visitors and leaves a wonderful legacy for the city. Over the course of 27 years, CASACOR has opened the doors of many iconic properties in Belo Horizonte. The Palácio das Mangabeiras has features by Niemeyer and a garden designed by Burle Marx. "It is a pearl within the city and a landmark since before that, the population never had free access to this building . Opening this new door to the city is a great joy for all of us", highlights Eduardo Faleiro , executive director of the exhibition.

The highlights of this edition

Architecture
Nidia-Duarte-CASACOR-Minas-2022-Studio-NY
01/19 -

Nídia Duarte - Casa Sui. The name comes from the Latin expression Sui Generis and conveys the idea of particularity while respecting individual differences. The structure is entirely suspended and sits smoothly on the ground. The hand-woven doors integrate the interior and exterior fluidly. Exploring textures and natural elements, lots of greenery and neutral tones, the spaces were designed for diverse uses.

02/19 -

Antonio Grillo - Guaxo's Nest. Made of steel rebars, the structure forms a pattern similar to a guaxo's nest. The arrangement of each rebar combines stability and aesthetic intent. Internally, a perforated white screen clearly outlines the space, highlighting the steel structure in the landscape and acting as a reflective surface for lighting close to the ground. Inside the building, it lends a particularly dramatic effect to the volume.

03/19 -

Flávia Roscoe - Varanda do Encontro. Vinícius de Moraes' lyrics say that joy is the best thing there is and this space was inspired exactly by that. A light and happy proposal like the colorful artwork on the wall. The solid wood ceiling, the textures present in the comfortable furniture, the green of the plants - which also appears in the olive green lacquer of the gourmet kitchen - everything is an invitation to celebrate the joy of good encounters.

04/19 -

Julia Faria - Espaço Áurea. The wood flooring goes up the wall and fills the ceiling, like an embrace. Based on the lightness of living, the kitchen, dining room and living room are integrated and face the landscape. Neutral colors such as gray, white, black and wood are accentuated by terracotta on the dining chair. The lighting is not obvious, with a clean ceiling hanging over the island. The concrete wall is like a screen, with the garden in front.

Natan Gil Arquitetura - Urban Oasis - Hotel room
05/19 -

Natan Gil Arquitetura - Urban Oasis - Hotel room. Designed as an oasis in the city, where you can disconnect from the urban chaos, the environment is one of tranquility. With a bamboo backdrop from end to end, works of art and elaborate design, it integrates with nature, with a reflecting pool facing the forest. With a clean ceiling and a simulated skylight, the light is indirect and calm. Above the sofa, lamps designed by the architect made of brass and steel resemble butterflies.

Associated Architects - Alexandre Brasil, Bruno Santa Cecilia and Paula Cardoso - Infinito Coletivo
06/19 -

Associated Architects - Alexandre Brasil, Bruno Santa Cecilia and Paula Zasnicoff - Espaço Líder, Infinito Coletivo. Technological possibilities applied on an architectural scale were associated with a large living space, with environments without pre-determined uses, which allow for sensory experiences. Four modules are arranged at the ends of the space, each with specific characteristics, merging the boundaries between interior and exterior, exploring the exuberant views of the land.

07/19 -

Ana Bahia - Gouache Room. The base is neutral and yet dramatic, surrounded by gray, black and green. The space opens up to the landscaping and all the nature that surrounds it. It moves between modernism and the very modern, with special pieces from the 1950s and others from today. The intention is to enhance the furniture and works of art, in which other colors are expressed with great sensitivity. Detail of the wall covering, in a proposal outside the traditional context.

Duppio Design - Loja Mels Brushes
08/19 -

Duppio Design - Mels Brushes Store. The focus is on the brand's aromas, but the project by Carolina Melgaço and Barbara Drumond sought to prioritize all the senses in a pleasant environment, where natural elements are everywhere. They are in the lightness of the furniture, in the stone wall, in the brushed granite countertop that avoids the frequent use given to the material. Two fixed windows bring the landscape of a bamboo grove into the space. A sensory corner has comfortable armchairs. A place to feel in every way.

09/19 -

Laura Baltazar - Living Prima Linea Synesthesia. To sharpen the senses, there is a mix of textures and materials, a striking aroma from diffusers, automation and sound. At dinner, the sustainability of reused steel cables promotes a circular concept. The sobriety of the materials is broken with different types of vegetation, colors and arts. The predominant orange tone is visually stimulating and offers warmth.

Fernanda Abras and Luiza Janot - Nest Room
10/19 -

Fernanda Abras and Luiza Janot - Quarto Ninho. House-shaped porticos welcome you. The entrance hall was designed as a stage, with a house-shaped niche, a knitted bear and a giant mobile. In the background, a playful painting by artist Carol Perillo. Inside the store, shelves with products and baskets are highlighted by LED profiles. On the ceiling, the lighting follows the design of the striped wallpaper.

(Fundação Mídia)
Andrea Pinto Coelho - Box Office
11/19 -

Andrea Pinto Coelho - Box Office. Minimalist and precise, the ticket office has striking landscaping, in shades of green and purple, and a side wall with brushed Bahia beige stone mosaic. The accessible counter has a quartzite top with veins that match the black of the light pergola made up of a metal structure, polycarbonate and teak wood, and the graphite floor. Just below the cement structure railing, LED lighting favors the entrance garden.

12/19 -

Janaina Araújo Arquitetura e Interiores - Studio Namata. Measuring just over 50 m², this project offers much more than the basics, in a peaceful environment, ideal for a couple's weekend. A house that fits into any landscape, it brings the charm of Corten steel louvers, the transparency of glass, the warmth of burnt cement and a large skylight. A bedroom with an open-concept bathroom, kitchen, living room, lots of charm and smart solutions.

13/19 -

Architectural Studio - Studio Formica® Brasil. The sensorial architecture seeks to pay homage to the 1922 Week, in a fluid and organic environment. A walkway gives access to the lounge, which has high ceilings, transparent glass and Brazilian furniture. The kitchen was designed as a space for sensations: there are original furniture, indoor jabuticaba trees, Formica coverings on the floor, wall and wooden ceiling. Light, immersive and, at the same time, impactful.

Studio 126 Architecture - Curral Stilt House
14/19 -

Studio 126 Arquitetura - Palafita do Curral. Built on metal stilts and surrounded by a garden, the construction is an invitation to the subjective dimension of time, space and memory. An environment that reinforces the relationship between humans, architecture, contexts and landscape. The wooden deck welcomes and surrounds the master suite. Protection and welcome are symbolized in the art pieces that add a mystical atmosphere to the space, combined with good design.

(Estúdio NY 18)
Open-architecture Beach Pavilion
15/19 -

Open architecture - Beach Pavilion. Unconventional, the proposal by Ramon Duplá, Caio Faria and Vinicius Fonseca is an efficient support point. In three modules, living room, bathroom/dining room and bedroom, the house has only a rigid central core, allowing freedom of occupation. Raised above the ground, it has a structure made of wooden stakes that repeat rhythmically and only two seals are used: the red metal tile on the roof and wrappings of fluid and light fabrics. An ethical and aesthetic choice that prioritizes materials in their rawest state.

(Jomar Bragança)
Gabriel Bueno - Roots Pavilion
16/19 -

Gabriel Bueno - Raízes Pavilion. Inspired by Lina Bo Bardi and designed as a podcast studio, the glass box conveys transparency and blends into the surrounding landscaping. It appears to float with the lighting coming from below, and the beak of its façade is reminiscent of a bird and its freedom. The neutral-toned palette highlights the green of the brick-like cladding on the back wall. Furniture with organic shapes, openwork curtains, voile drapes and a hanging jabuticaba tree provide lightness and balance. Everything sums up Lina Bo Bardi's thinking: “You don't need much to be much.”

17/19 -

Betânia Nascimento - Voktum Master Suite. The suite was designed for a couple who likes to enjoy life in their favorite corner of the world: their own home. The space is light and elegant, an invitation to relax. In light tones and betting on natural materials, the space has tauari heels on the floor, quartzite on the TV wall and a spa sculpted in brushed Bahia beige travertine. A vertical garden and another with bromeliads bring nature closer.

CLS Arquitetas Associadas - Deca Bathroom
18/19 -

CLS Arquitetas Associadas - Deca Bathroom. The idea is an environment that heightens sensations, whether through the sound of water gushing from a fountain that comes from the ceiling, or through the layout that combines organic pieces, from rugs to furniture. The entrance portal, floor and part of a wall are made of porcelain tiles that resemble stone. Framed by nature, the room embraces itself, with soft, diaphanous lighting.

19/19 -

Ana Paula Paolinelli - Couple's Shelter. The main concept proposes a refuge that offers several possibilities for interaction with nature. Nautical teak, the wood used, covers the façade, is on the entrance walkway and internally covers the entire space from floor to ceiling, used in slats and smooth panels. Glass frames with wooden blinds and also pivoting ones bring the interior and exterior closer together. Highlights include designer pieces and numerous works of art.

(Jomar Bragança)
In this edition, CASACOR Minas has a wide variety of environments, which include functional, conceptual, contemplative, playful and inspiring spaces. But one of the highlights of this year was the strong investment in architecture , with most of the spaces having been entirely built to the exhibition: of the 50 environments, 27 were built especially for this edition. Restaurants
Sarah James - Bistro The Chef and the Goat
01/05 -

“O Chef e o Cabra”, a project by Sarah James and visual identity by Gustavo Greco. Operated by the chef from Paraíba Onildo Rocha (Complexo Priceless - São Paulo and Grupo Roccia - Paraíba), the restaurant is operating for the first time in Minas Gerais with its participation in the show. The creative and gastronomic concepts were inspired by the Armorial Movement.

Restaurante Departamento, designed by Isabela Vecci. Operated by the Bravo Catering! team, this is the buffet 's first experience with having its own restaurant. Until now, the only opportunity to taste the creations signed by chef André Melo was to be invited to an event with gastronomy signed by them.

(Jomar Bragança)
Cris Zumpano - Uluru Café Square
03/05 -

Uluru Café Square - Cris Zumpano. The earthy colors are reminiscent of nature nearby. The furniture made of natural fibers covers the indoor and outdoor areas, with organic tables, sofas and poufs. The geometric patterned flooring stands out, forming a large abstract panel in colors that harmonize with the project's palette. The outdoor area was designed as a large portico. All in harmony with the natural cuisine offered at the location.

(Rafael Carrieri)
Lucas Lage - The Bar
04/05 -

The Bar - Lucas Lage. Serving the function of a café and drink bar, the space works with the purity of materials and uses light colors. With counter in slatted carrarinha marble, sideboard with white cement covering and mobile tables. For coffee, the single table with 14 seats has a more Minas Gerais atmosphere in the white painted wood. A suspended deck next to the bar has black and white nautical canvas furniture and black wood-topped tables.

(Jomar Bragança)
Dhar Architecture - Palace Bar
05/05 -

Palace Bar - Dhar Arquitetura. The organic cutout in the 35 m long wall offers lightness and movement in a space surrounded by lush landscaping. These openings outline a fluid architecture in contrast to the rigidity of the building. Made of white ecogranite on the outside, to match the nearby palace building, the same material is given black on the inside, enhancing and creating contrast between inside and outside. At the back of the bar, a large shelf with niches in carpentry and LED lighting behind the bottles gives the bar a chic and cool atmosphere at the same time. Designed by Victor Duarte and Luisa Lage.

(Jomar Bragança)
Gastronomy also gained more prominence within the show: for the first time in history, CASACOR Minas has two restaurants developed especially to serve the show's public. They are ephemeral restaurants, both with new concepts , and for this reason they are very successful among the public. The exhibition also has two cafés and two bars that can be enjoyed during the visit. Landscaping

Kat Flores e Paisagismo - Green for you, to see yourself. The simplicity of ferns and tropical plants is counterpointed by the sophistication of Vietnamese vases in a serene garden. A space to revive fond memories, offering a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Plants of different tones, shapes and textures harmonize with the pebble-shaped sofa. The sound of the water is an invitation to rest, reflect and connect with one's roots.

(Henrique Queiroga)
Wanderlan Pitangui - The Backlands Garden
02/07 -

Wanderlan Pitangui - "Os Sertões" Garden. The visual identity draws from the Brazilian northeast and integrates with the architecture proposed by the environment in which it is located. The inspiration comes from the book of the same name by Euclides da Cunha. The garden plays with resistant plants, examples of the resilience of the caatinga flora, which grow in dry, nutrient-poor soil. Xique-xique, friar face, Palma cactus, pineapple bromeliads and other bromeliads make up its composition.

(Henrique Queiroga)
Fleury Garden Landscaping - Origins
03/07 -

Fleury Landscaping Garden - Origins. Created to embrace and envelop architecture, this garden features elements that provoke sensations through aromas, touch and experimentation, and also through the recovery of emotional memories. It combines tropical plants with species typical of Minas Gerais backyards, such as the jabuticaba tree, as well as sculptural plants. Among various shades of green and a well-crafted volume, the cordyline features magenta dots.

(Daniel Mansur)
Ana Campos - Entrance Garden
04/07 -

Ana Campos - Jardim da Entrada - "Everyone's secret garden". The garden is the gateway to infinite experiences. The idea is to allow the connection with nature to activate each person's inner connection. Made with native plants, with masses that interact with the surrounding environments, it has movement, lightness and, at the same time, a gentle density, between colors, shapes, volumes and a variety of species chosen to enchant.

(Estúdio NY18)
Felipe Fontes - Infinite Garden Collective
05/07 -

Felipe Fontes - Jardim Infinito Coletivo. The garden uses contrast to create harmony with the architecture in which it is located. It points to a path that favors the good relationship between the architecture, the terrain and the nature around it. In the composition of grasses and herbaceous plants, it creates a light and pleasant ambiance in a contemporary proposal, allowing for a poetic reading in which nature is sovereign.

Your Landscaping Garden - Peugeot Garden. With a bolder and more personal touch, the garden features species with a striking presence that do not require much maintenance. The background made of shade plants highlights the stronger green, while other nuances of the color, including some that are close to blue, are in the more pointed and robust vegetation. An impactful proposal that achieves the desired result.

(Daniel Mansur)
Jordan Barros - Infinite Garden
07/07 -

Jordania Barros - Infinite Garden. A garden that uses the infinity symbol with poetic license, in the design formed by the species it uses. Designed to walk, contemplate and breathe, like a continuity of home.
