The 31st edition of CASACOR Rio is coming to an end: an event that once again presented the main trends in living, especially with the changes brought about by the post-pandemic period. The main stage every year for new works of art and design, launching furniture and home products, CASACOR Rio attracted more than 30 thousand people to Residência Brando Barbosa , where they stayed for the last two months.

But the economy surrounding the event goes far beyond that : the show generates a boost in sales in the home decor retail sector that lasts for up to three months after the end of the event. After all, everything that is displayed in its environments is transformed into objects. consumer desire . It is no surprise that the estimated growth in relation to the 2021 Rio edition is 10%, since the event is expected to generate around R$10 million in total – from the production months to the end of this edition, on the 26th.

Gisele Taranto Arquitetura - BamˈBo͞o Bar. The investment by architects in setting up the spaces alone should exceed R$6 million, taking into account that each of the 43 teams of professionals will invest around R$150 thousand in their spaces with labor, materials and execution. of the project. This is without counting the volume of business generated by the loan of furniture, objects, lighting fixtures, coverings and the like, which usually increases sales in the sector by around 15% during and after the assembly period of CASACOR Rio: a growth that becomes even more relevant if we take into account that the decoration sector was one of the few to grow during the pandemic. The furniture industry, for example, increased its investments in production by 176% compared to 2020, according to data from the Association Brazilian Furniture Industry Association (Abimóvel). Precisely to meet the high demand, which led to a lack of many materials throughout 2020.

Among Rio architects, there is almost unanimity: the demand for renovations and decoration has led to an increase of up to 50% in the number of projects underway in Rio offices. At CasaShopping, the largest decoration mall in Latin America, sales have grown by 40%. in the last two years .

Creative economy and social projects

Anna Luiza Rothier - Muito Além do Jardim.

Another well-established tradition of CASACOR Rio is the charity events held on the eve of the official opening. It is like a preview for guests – all paying – with proceeds going to various social projects. This year, R$250,000 was raised, which was divided between three institutions: Bank of Providence , Rio Inclui and the Children's Respond Association .

A cultural institute with open doors : for the arts, culture, visitors, the city. This was the proposal of the 31st edition of CASACOR Rio , which ends on June 26th. This time, the 62 professionals, including participating architects, interior designers and landscapers brought a new, more contemporary look to the iconic Brando Barbosa Residence , located in Jardim Botânico and surrounded by 12,000 m² of Atlantic Forest . A proposal that fit perfectly with the national theme of CASACOR 2022, “ Infinito Particular ”, which allows professionals to present diverse and plural solutions for a home with a soul, hyperconnected, full of affective memories and, of course, a lot of personality.
