The São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW) reaches its 60th edition celebrating 30 years of history. Created in 1995 by Paulo Borges, the event was born as an act of boldness and has established itself as the largest and most influential fashion gathering in Latin America. Three decades later, the SPFW continues to serve as a space for expression, identity, belonging, and innovation, reflecting the cultural transformations of the country and the urgencies of the present. From October 13 to 20, the capital of São Paulo will host 38 shows across different locations in the city, including the Pavilhão das Culturas Brasileiras in Ibirapuera Park, the Teatro Iguatemi, and other iconic venues.

Debuts and Returns: What to Expect on the Runways

The line-up for the SPFW N60 edition combines already established names with debuts and significant reunions. Among the new entries are by Marcelo Sommer and Chapéus Davi Ramos, a brand previously known for its head accessories, which is now presenting its first complete clothing collection.

Among the most anticipated returns are Amir Slama, a historical name in Brazilian beach fashion and founder of Rosa Chá, as well as designers Flávia Aranha and Ronaldo Fraga, who return to the runways after a period away from the event.

Traditional brands such as João Pimenta, Forca, and Apartamento 03 are also present, reinforcing the diverse and authorial character of the SPFW.

Fashion and Handicraft: FOZ's Show in Partnership with Museu A CASA

One of the highlights of the program is the show “Povoado Poesia”, from the Alagoas brand FOZ, in partnership with the Museu A CASA do Objeto Brasileiro. The presentation will take place on October 17 at 4:30 PM, at the Pavilhão das Culturas Brasileiras, and features a setting made entirely of fabrics: with walls, doors, windows, and roof constructed from weavings embroidered by artisans from the 27 Brazilian states.

Exposição “A Casa Bordada” (2017), com curadoria do designer Renato Imbroisi (Marcos Muzi/CASACOR)

The installation is part of the Museu A CASA collection and was originally presented in the exhibition “A Casa Bordada” (2017), curated by designer Renato Imbroisi. For the show, the project gains a new structure designed by Thiago Almeida, repurposing the original embroideries and highlighting the dialogue between art, design, and regional manual crafts.

Three Decades of Fashion and Transformation

More than just a calendar of shows, the SPFW has become a platform for culture and behavior. Over the years, the event has helped to project Brazilian designers on the international scene and to promote debates on diversity, sustainability, and inclusion in fashion.

This commemorative edition focuses on revisiting this journey and projecting the future. The SPFW 30 years celebrates the past without losing sight of what is yet to come.
