Planting Dreams

The theme of CASACOR 2025 is based on three pillars: collective dreams, cooperative ecosystems, and the confluence of knowledge. The proposal encourages the creation of a sustainable and collaborative future, integrating the urban projects with nature and promoting transdisciplinarity among different areas of knowledge.

Lívia Pedreira, president of the curatorial committee, emphasizes the need to rethink cities in light of urban population growth, pointing to nature as an essential ally for quality of life and sustainability.

"The latest World Cities Report from UN-Habitat indicates that 68% of the population will be urban by 2050. Currently, on average, 56% of the global population already lives in these areas. CASACOR's research hints at nature as an ally in cities, which is where life happens. It is necessary to imagine a new way of living and dream collectively, in a planetary pact for the survival of the human species."

With this vision of the future as a guide, CASACOR São Paulo will have its 38th edition at Parque da Água Branca, a green urban space of significant historical and cultural importance, known for its 137 thousand square meters of preserved remnants of the Atlantic Forest.

Inaugurated in 1929 and protected by heritage laws, it is a essential natural refuge within the city, offering a rare combination of nature and history. "We were fortunate to find Parque da Água Branca for CASACOR São Paulo, as our research points to this ancestral scientific knowledge in the search for alternatives to live in a transitioning world," emphasizes Lívia Pedreira.

André Secchin, CEO of CASACOR, adds that the space embodies the ideal setting for 2025. "We found the perfect place to talk about possible futures, with the connection between urban life and the natural projects. By occupying this space, CASACOR seeks to reimagine and activate the potential of the park, highlighting the importance of integrating green areas into urban development, promoting cultural, environmental, and social regeneration."
