The mansion is the same , but
CASACOR Rio 2022 will be very different from the last one. The
cast of architects, interior designers and landscapers of the 31st edition has already started planning the spaces of the show — of which there will be around 40 — and
the proposals could not be more innovative . The main difference is that, this time, the look at the
iconic property will have
a more contemporary feel — still, of course, preserving and protecting the original architecture of the Brando Barbosa Residence, which is listed by the State Institute of Cultural Heritage (INEPAC).

The idea is to bring
more experimental spaces closer to the public , as well as to present new uses for the interior spaces of the main house. The public will be able to better enjoy the courtyards, gardens and entertainment areas of the palatial property.
The first major change will be in the
visiting circuit , which will begin at the residence's former
porte-cochère . The
second floor , where the bedrooms, home office and bathroom for the 2021 exhibition were located, will now house a
guesthouse for guests of the Brando Barbosa Institute — such as directors of institutions, artists and designers. In addition to studios, the floor The upper floor will have
common areas such as an office, meeting room and a spa balcony.
Another area that promises to surprise is the
kitchen — one of the most striking from last year —, which in this edition will house a
café , allowing visitors to make the best use of the space.
CASACOR Rio 2022 takes place from April 27 to June 26, at Residência Brando Barbosa, an iconic property surrounded by 12 thousand square meters of Atlantic Forest in the heart of Jardim Botânico.
